I used to have a ferret that was a stray animalk that wondered into my neighbours garden and decided to keep it after nobody claimed their ferret was missing. However at the time, I was at college and my parents and brother were working, so nobody had the time to look after it, so we gave it to a family friend who wanted a ferret. She was very tame a playful, so she was clearly used to being handled and somebodies pet before turning up in the neighbours garden. |

I've actually heard of several cases of ferrets biting people, and those weren't playful incidents. And they don't let go ... |

This is especially true when you pick up a ferret that aren't used to being handled. Ferrets need to be handled regularly and from a young age to reduce the risk of a bite, then again any animal that are likely to bite or scratch need to be handled regularly if they are going to be picked up and petted alot, especially by children. |
