It's so great... not. Seriously, WHY???? ![]() It has 12.008 vertices for absolutely no reason or use at all. Less than 100 vertices would've been more than enough with no visible difference. The texture space is similarly wasted and the texture repetitive. Much better results can be achieved using nonstandard aspect ratio skins, with the UV parts occupying different spaces. |

There's really nothing in this creation that deserves any praise other than for the sheer fact that he took the effort to make something and it doesn't look too bad. I've held this lament several times before and it's apparently been completely pointless - talking against a wall. There's no point in making something in a way that makes the result functionally unusable. I do not encourage anyone to make things that way. Therefore, one doesn't get any nice words from me after the first couple of times, but only the naked truth: It's crap the way it is. Face it. Edited by HENDRIX, May 24 2015, 05:06 PM.

Oh that's a shame. I really wanted to use it for my chinese zoo but like you said, that amoung of vertices make it unusable. It will lag and crash the game after just a few of them placed around. It will be great if you can reduce the vertices count Robbie... like, a lot. |

Robbie probably do, how else could he had made that sign ![]() one quick way to fix it is use the decimate modifier in blender, but the result might not be as expected so it's better to select the unnecessary loop cuts and remove them manually. |

Basically the correct way to do it is to start from scratch and use just as many vertices as you need in the end. For example, 5 vertices per ring are perfectly fine for bamboo. So you could add a primitive cylinder with 5 verts and work from that. Don't ever work with modifiers for game purposes - it simply does not work out.
