Pull my finger!

This spider was found in my backyard today, and I wand to know what species or genus it belongs to. It's plump, and only the size of about a centimeter. Very fast. The only picture I could find. I'm guessing it's a Carolina Wolf Spider, but the abdomen is plain.

I am Iron Man

I'm no spider expert, but that doesn't look like a carolina wolf spider according to what I found here. I'd suggest looking up spider species around where you live and see if you could find a match. Hope this helps! :D

Pull my finger!

I was skeptical as well. Thanks :D

I'm guessing it's a wolf spider or a huge grass spider of some sort. Spiders can be a pain at times xD

EDIT: I'm using BugGuide.net. It's very helpful. So far, I'm getting either Hogna or Trichosa.

EDIT 2: AHA! GOT IT! WOOHOO! It's a female Trochosa terricola. Time to put into my Project Noah database. :D

I'm happy you found out what specie it was :D But how do you know it's a female? :)

Size I'd say, most female spiders are larger than males.

Pull my finger!

Males are quite small, and look almost emaciated for such. xD

I stand in the shadows waiting for you to return me to the light.

Yep spider life to human life, it is all dominatrices, no say for the male because they will be eaten if proven not useful...

However to me that looked like two spiders but I think you are right my ideas where well the C. Wolf spider or a Brown Recluse. They all even yours seem like nasty buggars.... I just know one of the three live in a giant number in dark places that nobody ever goes...
