Birds of a feather will flock together. ~ MARTIAL, Epigrams

It’s time to start building again. This time we want to see birds. Build the ultimate exhibit for the most beautiful/colorful birds in the world. But if this might be a bit too simple for you; let us spice things up a bit. For this building contest, you can work in groups.

Rules:

  • The entry must include a minimum of 8 photos and a maximum of 25, 1 overview must be included.
  • Participants have to create one or more aviaries, using at least 4 different bird species.
  • You can only use two non-flying species. Every specie used, must be clearly visible on one of the pictures.
  • The entire entry must be built on one map.
  • For this contest you will be able to work alone or in groups of maximum 4 persons.
  • If you work in group: Only one member has to post the entry, but has to mention all the names of the group members. All members of the group must have an account on this site.
  • Only modern (still alive today) birds are allowed for this contest.
  • PU downloads and statues allowed, but use of leaked content is forbidden and will get you disqualified.
  • Some simple editing (only borders or logos) of the pictures is allowed, entries that look over-edited will be disqualified.
  • Entries must be submitted before 16 May in the Staff PM Box and should be named Feather Flock - title of your entry'.

Judging:

  • Voting will begin once all entries are in and the contest is closed.
  • Voting ends on 23 May.

Prizes:

  • 1st prize - A rare bird silhouette and 500 pointies
  • 2nd prize - A bird silhouette and 300 pointies
  • 3rd prize - A bird silhouette and 200 pointies

All contestants will receive 100 pointies regardless the position.
If you work in group, the received pointies will be divided between all members of the group. But each group member will receive a silhouette, if the group wins one.

@ AVCDPS: Cropping the picture is allowed :)

We prefer you make something new, not shown before. After the contest you can then place it in your S&T.

@ MiBound: Because it's an aviary building contest. We want to see at least one aviary. And an aviary for penguins is a bit pointless :)

I'm thinking of joining, but for some birds, if they're not available, is it alright if I edit in animals? Just curious.

No, you're not allowed to edit your pictures, apart from adding a logo or border and cropping them.
So, no, you can not edit an animal into your pictures.

I'm joining, but a question.

Does added brightness will be considered as over-edited?

I would have this question to, as I do it to all my pics, but sadly I will not be joining this contest. I haven't had much free time lately do to things irl, including exams, and I didn't like how my entry was turning out. Thought I should let everyone know.

To end on a brighter note, I will still be joining the art contest as my entry is almost done! :D :D

This also means you're not allowed to change the brightness :)

wait, you can only use two flightless species? I'm afraid I used 3. I can't edit what I have built, so I'm afraid I am out of this contest in all likely hood. :/

EDIT: unless there is no minimum on how many exhibits there are? I built 6, but I could not show one with flightless birds. So is five exhibits enough?

Also, do waterfowl count as flightless? If they are in an open enclosure?
Sorry for all the questions :P

There is no minimum on the amount of exhibits.

Waterfowl are flying birds, so they don't count as non-flying xD
But keep in mind this is an aviary building contest, so your entry has to contain at least one aviary :)

Can a few exhibits be empty?

(For example: such animals are in quarantine or haven't arrived yet)

If you want, yes, they can be empty.
But keep in mind we have to see at least 4 different species :)

Can we post the entry on Friday or it has to be before that? I know it says before May 16 but i'm not sure if that day counts as well as a valid date to submit the entry or not.
