Actually it was my intention. It's not meant to offend anyone and honestly I'm not sure how it would get someone extremely upset. Maybe a little bit insulted, they can get over that. It was meant as a joke, and besides the point of this topic is to pick any species of animal and list any reasons you have for wanting them. Just because I didn't feel like choosing animals based on what would be best for any ecosystems, there's no need to criticize my choices. Like I said, this post was meant as a joke. 1a Joke(N)- A thing that someone says to cause amusement or laughter, especially a story with a funny punchline That's what Oxford has to say in the matter. I'm sorry that you didn't interprate this as funny, but seriously, I think the fact that I said I wanted Narwhals because they were "Sea unicorns" should have made it pretty freaking obvious I was just kidding around. If the fact that I want Bald Eagles to live is offensive to anyone, feel free to shoot me a PM about it, or just post your country's national animal on your list . Anyways just do me a favor and lighten up a bit, ok?

Rat snake is love... Rat snake is life

Because yesterday, I was on the phone when making this. Here is the reason. 1. Earthworm is a needed scavenger than help taking care of plant matter. They also help loosening the soil which is good for plant's rooting system. And not to mention, they are the base of food web as well. 2. Ant help filling the niche of scavenger as well. They are even far more effective than earthworm and also scavenge on both plant and animal. They are also food for other animal too(I think.) 3. Bee helps polinating plants. They also produce honey, a good food source for humanity and other animals. Bee themselves also can become prey to other animal. (Gosh... Hope other animal learn how to deal with the sting, or else I have to change this to butterfly instead.) 4. Crow is very intelligent and adaptive animal. They can eat anything from plants to meet. I think they can serve as insectivore and scavenger here. I don't know if crow is tasty or not, but if its taste quite well, we might have a new KFC(Kentucky Fried Crow) since they would breed very quickly due the lack of competition and predators. 5. Dog is good companion to human. But in the other hand, an oppotunatic predator that can also eat plant. Very suit for the ecosystem that there aren't many prey choices. 6. Rabbit breeds fast and could be affective grazer. They are also prey for predator like dog and crow(may be baby rabbit) and human too. 7. Small fresh water shrimp for scavenger job and being the base of food chain in fresh water area. 8. Common carp as herbivorous fish(though they are omnivore) and food source to human. Although I myself found them to be yucky, Chinese people have eaten them for long time, so I guess it would be fine. 9. And we need a large predator fish to control carp population and be another choice for our fish and chip. 10. Goose would play the role of grazer, both in land and water which rabbit can't reach. |

I would save Atlantic puffins, jaguars, crested gibbons, diamondback terrapins, rubber boas, black African giant millipedes, Indian mudskippers, dama gazelle, striped hyenas, and banded archerfish. Why these animals? No reason other than I like them.

I occasionally catch my dogs eating grass when I'm outside with them with no apparent ill health effects. But yeah, plants aren't really a normal part of a canine's diet. |

microorganisms were already specified to have not been effected if they had been, nothing would possibly survive |

Well i'm going to do a 50/50 list. First part will be animals useful to humans and needed for human survival. Second half will animals that i would save because i like them. 1. Bees: we pretty much all agree that they are a key element in the survival of flora, not to mention a lot of food that human produces from plants. 2. Dogs(wolves: loyal companions, useful for hunting if trained. Useful for self protection as well. 3. Horses: an animal that can be used both for farming labors and for transportation of both humans and objects. 4. Sheeps or Llamas: they can be use as a source of wool for clothing, food and as grazing animals. 5. Earthworms: they are important for the production of humus and fertile soil for planting. 6. Tigers 7. Orcas/Dolphins 8. Eagles (any kind will do, although i think golden eagles would be the best choice) 9. Elephants 10. Well orcas/dolphin will need something to eat so i guess some kind of sea fish Myabe tunas?

I used to know a monitor that liked to suck on lemons not swallow, just mash them to a pulp and suck the juice out so there are exceptions, and I bet grass is certainly one of them |

That's actually pretty common IIRC. Even though they're carnivores, monitors seem to love fruit juice for some reason. |

Well since apparently my previous list isn't good enough for some people here's a new one. (I'd still go with list No.1 any day)1. Bees(Any Species). Shouldn't have to give a reason, except for the fact without bees we'd all be dead in about 2-4 years. 2. Crocodiles(Any Species). Very adaptive, could potentially evolve to live in permanently live in the sea or land. Saltwater Crocs are proof enough. 3 Bats (Any species). Perfect for insect control. As The Future is Wild documentary shows, they could evolve to be completely diurnal and become top predators. Some species of Fruit Bat are already diurnal as it is. 4. Beavers. Nature's very own Bob the Builder, these guys not only build dams that naturally purify water and create their own ecosystems, their also a great source of food and clothing. 5. Texas Longhorn Cattle. Very tough, very adaptable. They'd be humans main source of meat. could also be used for labor, and obviously leather products. 6. Earthworms. Breaking up the soil, filling the nitrogen cycle, decomposing dead matter. These guys are essential to life, but hey, you already knew that didn't you? 7. Gorillas. These guys literally s*** out life. Their dung contains seeds that will one day become parts of large and vast forests which are essential for taking in carbon and producing oxygen. 8. Cats. It doesn't matter what kind really, but feral cats could easily evolve to become the top predator of any species. From Mountain Lions in the American West, Snow Leopards in the Himalayas, Cheetahs in the Sahara and Jaguars in the jungle of South America, evolution shows how adaptive and opportunistic these guys are. 10. Alpacas. Source of wool, food and transportation. Potential prey for the cats. Very hardy animals that can live in the Andes and almost any other place. Not to mention the fact that there is such a thing as guard llamas. |
