Not to be ultimately vulgar but people have been inspired by looking at the colors in someone's vomit (there is actually an artist in the world that pastes using his own vomit).

Inspiring people alone is not a reason to say "keeping these animals in captivity is awesome"! Like I said, if the orcas were doing as well or better than their wild counterparts, I'd have no problem.

But their lives are worse, their lives are on averager shorter and from what we can tell, the animals are not as happy, the family groups are split up to go to different parks, many of them suffer from mental hardships, and only a handful of the whales are living to their normal lifespans, that's just not good enough, no matter what they are doing to "inspire" people.

I think it'd be best to see how much they do and how much the whales improve after they enhance the animals living quarters.

I'm not slow! That's just my moe!

thats not what was said, what was said was that the shows themselves don't need changing, not the housing for the animals (which does, obviously)

Wasn't there a trainer that was seriously injured during a show and another that...was/almost eaten during another?

true, but thats more to do with the mental health of the animals and the choreography, than the content of the shows

@Macaw-Mike; They house the performing animals behind the scenes. I'm not entirely sure if you get the chance to look at them but I know they are housed with other animals of the same species. They switch out the performing Sea Lions and Otters and put them in the Pacific Point Preserve where guests can see them. The Walrus' are for sure housed in their own enclosure where people can see them since they're not in every show.

Okay well wasn't there a Nascar driver seriously injured during a live TV race? Or one who died? Or a Bull Rider at a Rodeo seriously injured during a rodeo? I would like to believe that people who work in these dangerous environments know their risks and know that they have the chance of dying. If they love it, they'll do it.
