In Zoos

Type of Exhibit: The exhibit should have a few hiding places along with some ground foliage to hide treats in. The exhibit should also be covered by large trees so the lemurs do not overheat. Indoor exhibits for Sclater's lemurs should have a floor with rocks in it. Artificial foliage must be used when making indoor so the plants do not die and it is much easier to clean.

Temperament: Sclater's Lemurs can be extremely aggressive to each other

Diet: Fruit, nectar, and pollen during the wet season and nuts and seeds during the dry one.

Social Needs: Group Sizes of 4-11

Reproduction: Sclater's Lemurs and polygamous. One or two offspring are born after a gestation period of about 120 days

  • They are one of the most endangered animals in the world
