It looks very nice - although under the beak the head looks a little weird. Maybe it is just the angle. |

Thanks for the release of this very needed animal. The Bali mynah looks very good. The maleo however has a bit too angular shaped head in my opinion. Edited by Jony, Feb 4 2016, 03:56 PM.

I absolutely love that you are focusing on the fascinating birds of the "islands" around the world. My question is are these going to have the bat animations like the tern? I like the fact that it makes them fly more but I think it actually makes them fly too much. I don't think I have actually seen my terns land at all haha |

The tern does not land, nor does it use bat animations, it uses tern animations, the Pied Imperial Pigeon uses bat animations, it will not land on the ground but it does perch on trees Spoiler: click to toggle I agree with the maleo suggestions, fortunatly, it will not be realeased for some time, I have to get it to build nests Edited by Whalebite, Feb 4 2016, 05:00 PM.

Thank you for the release! The new birds are amazing, but I agree with Jony about the Maleo's head. |

While it's admirable that you're producing downloads at such a rapid pace (and really interesting species too), I believe it would be better to opt for quality over quantity and spend a little more time on each animal, especially the skins. Some, like the Imperial pigeon and Wattled honeyeater, look pretty good, but others (maleo, bird-of-paradise and especially striped rabbit and flowerpecker to name a few) look rushed, with blurry/stretched skins that lack detail and texture. I'm not trying to be rude, I just think spending a little more time on projects will work to improve the final product and hone your skills as a designer

I agree with that, especially the maleo and the count reggie the rabbit may need a scratch skin, or just use hendrix as a base, the flowerpecker is so small that it only looks bad in the render, although i have to fix the eye, it is driving me nuts ![]() ![]() model by hendrix Here is the Siamese fireback, i will do some more work on the tails Edited by Whalebite, Feb 6 2016, 01:33 PM.

The fireback was a species i was hoping someone would make some day, same with the male. Although, i have to agree with Jannick. I liked and downloaded your Galapagos and Hawaii packs. I thought the skins of the animals and items look realy good on those packs, but it seems like in the latest birds you have been using blurry references and the textures don't look as defined as your previous animals. With the fireback for example, the feathers of the body and tail don't really have much definition. Maybe you should try to look for higher quality pics to use for the skins? Like you said, with the small animals is not that much of a problem really, since the details will be barely noticeable, but with the larger animals it shows when the texture is blurry, specially in game. I like the monitor btw! Didn't know that species but it looks awesome

Isn't that a bornean fireback rather than Siamese? Anyways I agree with Ignacio, a lot of the textures are fairly blury and could use a touch up. |

My Issue is most definitely that I have trouble with references, I look through images of fire backs and have to stitch together various pictures to even make it a little defined, My main option is to do what samuel did, and instead of references do colored textures. Which works really well on small birds. The Bali Myna will be the next release, because it is the only decent one. Yes it is the Great Crested Fireback not the Siamese. |
