An idea to still have the windows be easy to work with, but not have them be on a black (or plain-coloured) background could be to add a curtain texture behind the windows, perhaps? I'm not sure how well a 2D texture of those would look ingame, but it might be worth trying!

Either way, I'm really loving all of these objects! This will definitely bring a lot of variety to zoo-building!

That is a great idea actually, will play around with that to see if it looks good.
Thanks!

I don't understand why a regular transparent window wouldn't work? I see S&Ts with building similar to that with see-thru windows showing the viewing area or gift shop or whatever on the other side and they look fine?

Not trying to argue. This is your project and you should make what you want how you want it. Maybe I'm not understanding what you mean. Sorry! :\

The problem is that the windows are separate objects that can be placed on the walls. If the windows are transparent but they're placed on a wall that doesn't have a hole in them, you'd see the wall's texture in the window, instead of whatever is behind the windows, as the game wouldn't automatically create a hole in the wall it'd be placed on. Thus, having a colour field (or perhaps curtains, if that looks good) would look better than a window that looks like it's been filled with bricks :P

This could be fixed by making walls with holes for windows alongside normal windows, but that would clutter the game's inventory and you'd have to make the holes at a fixed location, which would again limit where you could place the windows, whereas now you can place them wherever you want.

I hope that made sense! :P

Why not just light blue or white-ish color? I'll be ok with that. I agree black looks too ominous :P

Anton is 100% correct. Ideally I too would prefer to have working windows, but these packs already add way too many pieces to the game, so adding seperate window pieces for every wall would be overkill, especially because I'd prefer to have multiple different window sizes and shapes in the future.

I'll be screwing around with hues of blue and adding curtains, we'll see.
Glad you guys are interested in the whole thing though ^^

I for one would love to see curtains, seeing as there are none in game (as far as I can tell)
I use zeta designs for the slat blinds :D

Download Link

This download adds 37 items to your game which you can use to create buildings with. These also include a variety of wooden posts and concrete pillars which have multiple uses; be creative!
The default pack will be required to be installed for all future building packs I will release.

In order for these to work you will need Snowleo's CombiPatch and an Invisible Elevated Path mod.

This is Public Domain, but Personal Use downloads made out of these are not allowed.

Thank you, Ignacio!

And thank you Bunteriro, I'm glad you like it, I love doing it ^^

BTW, massive thanks to Iben for helping me on some coding stuff which helped making the entire process more efficient both for me and for the game to handle. Kudos!
