Actually in the Florida Everglades alligators and crocodiles coexist. I believe it is the only place in the world that this occurs. That's why I was asking |

Yes but the gators live more inland, while the crocs live closer to the sea. |

Yeah I know that however an american crocodile was found in lake tarpon which is far more inland than ever before. But I believe it is due to their increased population on south Florida that the crocs are moving more inland to establish new territories. |

I think what Furka is saying is that yes, they can co-exist in some places but the two populations are not so overlapped with each other that they are constantly sharing the same space and food which is what keeps the violence between them at a minimum. |

I understand Furka is saying I agree. I'm just fascinated that american crocodiles have several other crocodilians within their vast range alligators in the north, Cuban crocodiles, morelet's crocodiles and caimans and Orinoco crocs in the south it's truly amazing. |

There are several places where coexist different species of crocodile, but say they are not going to drink together , It is like any other species, in fact there are cases where even interbreed them creating hybrids, but like any other species if they coincide in one place can generate conflicting, and in any case, crocodiles and hippos live together in freedom, which does not mean they do not fight each other, for that reason I do not think you can see them together in any zoo
