Is it a good idea to mix hornbills with smaller birds such as pigeons or partridges?
It really depends on what hornbill species you are planning on. Asian hornbills are different from African hornbills and have different temperaments. I've seen African hornbills with a variety of smaller birds though I've only seen Asian hornbills with larger species (aka, victoria crowned pigeon, malay argus)

How would western lowland gorillas and red river hogs fare together? Providing the hogs are prevented from roaming the entire exhibit?
You can add gorillas and red river hogs together, in the exhibit you showed, but I would be worried with the temperament with the gorillas. Just make sure tha all the gorillas have even temperaments. If they do not and you have enough animals for a rotation exhibit then do that too. PM me if you have any questions.

Would it be safe to exhibit Congo Buffalo with Grey Crowned Crane?

Could work or could not work. In Blijdorp they've tried to combine Red River Hogs with Congo Buffalos, but that didn't work out because the females kept chasing the hogs, but that is because of their behaviour. Because normally that combination could work fine. So I want to say yes, but in real life it may depend on the behaviour of the animal.

Any combinations for Spectacled Bears? I was already thinking of Brazilian Tapirs, but any other suggestions?

You can combine them with squirrel monkeys and coatis for sure.

Why not Tapirs? I think this is similar to Malayan Sun Bears/Malayan Tapirs.

Spectacled Bears have been documented preying on tapirs, so it would be pretty risky.

Spectacled bears have been combined with coatis, squirrel monkeys, spider monkeys, capybara, lowland tapir, asian small-clawed otters, black howler monkeys, etc.

As usual when it comes to combining animals though, a lot depends on the character of the animal itself and the size of the exhibit.

Other ursids have been combined with a whole range of different animals, including deer, macaques, bison, foxes, wolves, pumas, binturong, etc.

This link gives a very comprehensive overview of what species are kept with different bears in all kinds of zoos, at the very bottom of the page is a link you can click that collapses a list of all combinations. ;)

Yeah I've posted that link here before, but was wondering with the Spectacled Bear and the Tapirs.

But now I see I'm pretty stupid. In that link you can even see a Tapir and Spectacled Bear together...

That link's got some...interesting (?) combinations. Sloth bears with polar bears, American black bears with addax, Arabian oryx, hanuman langur, Asian black bear and Hamadryas baboons. Sounds cool :p

Would these combos work:
-Southern Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Plains Zebra, Barbary Sheep, Common Eland, Blackbuck
-Chital Deer, Southern White Rhinoceros, Siberian Crane
-Bacterian Camel, Reindeer, Watussi Cattle

(None of these combos are supposed to make sense geographically.)
