I wouldn't because in a large ungulate exhibit the porcupine might go unnoticed, especially if it spends the day sleeping in a log or such.

I'm working on a new park and I'm trying not to give away spoilers so I'll make this as vague as possible.
1. Flamingos and Pelicans
2. Okapis, Hogs and Duikers
3. Ibises and Vultures (given both are full grown)
4. Deer, Barbary Sheep and Oryxes
5. Fur Seals, Sea Lions and Seals
6. Hippos and Goliath Herons
7. Bantengs and Anoas

1. Flamingos and Pelicans - Done successfully in real life zoos
2. Okapis, Hogs and Duikers - I wouldn't add hogs to this. They can be aggressive and the more delicate duikers couldn't take it
3. Ibises and Vultures (given both are full grown) - Once again done successfully in real life zoos
4. Deer, Barbary Sheep and Oryxes - What species of deer?
5. Fur Seals, Sea Lions and Seals - I'm not the best person to talk about pinniepids so I'll leave it to a more kent person
6. Hippos and Goliath Herons - No. Hippos need a huge indoor space
7. Bantengs and Anoas - No. Banteangs could kill the anoas

5. Fur Seal, Sea Lions and Seals:

- Fur Seals and Sea Lions: done successfully in real life zoos, but be careful during mating season, bulls can seriously injure each other.
- Sea Lions and Seals: done successfully in real life zoos, but need to be fed separately.
- Never seen a combo with all 3, but should be possible in theory.

Hannover Zoo keeps Californian sea lions (only females), Northern fur seals (breeding group) and grey seals (females or breeding group, not sure) together.

4. Deer, Barbary Sheep and Oryxes- I'm pretty sure the San Diego Zoo Safari Park has Arabian Oryxes, Barbary Sheep, and a subspecies of Red Deer known as Barbary Deer in one of their safari rides.

Just curious, not actually working on it or anything.

Different kind of Giraffes?

Sure, for a long time zoos kept different giraffes together to the point that hybridization has become a huge problem in captive populations specially in the U.S, nowadays some zoos also keep bachelor groups of different kinds of giraffes.

Fascinating, thank you!

Why exactly would this be a problem for the herons?

Yeah how is this a problem for the herons? If anything it would be interesting to have some sort of hippo house with a couple of herons and other african swamp birds flying around.

Could I mix a pair of great white pelicans with a small flock of lesser flamingo?

If I'm not mistaken, Copenhagen has this. They have an indoor area with free-flying birds (hamerkops and starlings).

Would it be okay to mix some green iguanas with one or two red-footed tortoises? I figure that since they're from the same area, environmental parameters would be the same, and with the iguanas spending most of their time up high and tortoises being terrestrial there probably wouldn't be any issues, but I wanted a second opinion.

EDIT: Also, would it be okay to keep a wood turtle with an American bullfrog, assuming sufficient water area for the frog and plenty of land area for the turtle? Both specimens would be fully grown. I'm also open to suggestions for other species of herps that could be kept with one or both of them, or even small freshwater fish that could be added to the water area.
