Would an aviary of Bornean Banded Pittas, Bornean Bristleheads and Whitehead's Broadbills work well? |

Yes, it would. Would make it big enough with some space to hide because all those species are quite shy; though. |

Personally I would reccomend a larger antelope, like sitatunga or even bongo. Obviously provided enough space, ability for both species to hide, seperate indoors etc. |

Nooooo I wouldn't do that at all. That's just asking for injuries on/by either party. Blue Duiker have been combined with gorillas before but truly gorillas are interesting enough on their own to not need to be combined |

Wouldn't do it either, and especially not with larger antelopes. The thing it often depends on the troop you have in question and even of the exhibit. The most common mix is with guenons/colobuses but even then there are some cases of gorillas killing them because there wasn't enough canopy spaces for the smaller monkeys, as such they ventured out in gorilla territory and the troop wasn't too keen about that (this combination though is the most successful and works very well with Golden-bellied mangabey in Burgers Zoo, Lesser spot-nosed guenon in Howletts or with Black mangabeys at Gaia Zoo etc...). Valencia used to keep gorillas with sitatungas but it didn't work well so they ceased that and now keep them with drills and guenons. Detroit used to keep them with mandrills, diana monkeys and even klipspringers with gorillas (although I don't know if it sill is the case) so that shows how random combinations can sometimes be and how it all depends on the character of the animals themselves. The craziest mix would probably be Heidelberg which kept White-tailed mongoose with them (unfortunately the mongooses are now dead although not because of the gorillas). tl;dr I wouldn't combine duikers and especially larger antelopes with gorillas unless your troop is very gentle and even then I would have precautions. Worth taking the risk? I don't know, probably not; as Fireplume said gorillas are already interesting enough on their own. Edited by Zoo Tycooner FR, Jul 6 2018, 09:19 AM.
