I'm wondering which animals I could keep with crocodiles together? I know that birds (but no waterfowl) and fish work. And surprisingly also dwarf mongoose and Nile crocodiles work in Basel. So, how far could I go? |

I know turtles and crocs work, I've seen Johnston's Crocodiles with a bunch of Australian species and Gavials with Fly River Turtles and a few others. |

Stupid question. Okay, so for the prehistoric zoo contest I'm not sure if this combo would seem too unrealistic, but I find it badass. I've had many nice combos between mosasaurs, prehistoric sharks, pliosaurs, and icthyosaurs. In the past I've exhibited Tylosaurus/Hainosaurus with Megalodons, and they stalk each other every once in a while but they never eat each other. People may not vote for the zoo if they find it too crazy. So basically, what "realistic" combos could I pull off with those animal groups mentioned above? Edited by Envy, Feb 3 2015, 01:37 AM.

Only mosasaur/shark combo I'd trust is Ptychodus with a smaller mosasaur like Platecarpus or Globidens. |

The sharks I have are: Megalodon, Hybodus, Helicoprion, Cretoxyrhina, Squalicorax, Otodus, Cladoselache, and a whole bunch of sawfish. Ptychodus from Imago, right? Squalicorax wouldn't work eh? |

Not sure, we know it fed on other marine (and non) animals, and we can't be sure if it was scavenging or active predation. Ptychodus is a benthic shellfish eater, so it shouldn't trouble the mosas if they have enough space. |

Alright, that helps. Thanks. What combos would work between plio/plesiosaurs & icthyosaurs? Cryptocleidus & Ophalmosaurus work of course, but I need something different. |

Small sharks, fish (A designer on I believe ZH has made tons of extinct fish) and the generic ammonites. |

Uhhh I think that should work, when I saw Kingfishers they were kept with some other birds. So I think you're good. |

1. Yep, the National Aquarium has triggerfish and sea turtles 2. I wouldn't risk it. Sea lions are aggressive and like to pick on the smaller ones. You wouldn't want a baby monk seal to be chased around by a juvenile sea lion. 3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hpNx62Zwk0 |
