So, working on a squirrel monkey exhibit, and since it turned out larger than planned, I was thinking about putting something else in it. I was thinking about a small terrestrial mammal (either brocket deer or agouti) and then a medium sized bird, but I have no idea of what species I could use. Any suggestions ?

I've seen agouti/acouchi/paca, iguanas, and curassows in that sort of combination.

Problem is that I don't think there's any curassow available ...
And I can't use Iguanas because it's an outdoor exhibit and I doubt they would do well ,except maybe in summer.

@ Furka: I'll send you one hold on

@ Azrael: Nooooooooooooo Musk Ox are notoriously aggressive AND they're apparently super hard to keep cause of their health issues.

I thought that afterwards, the enclosure is now their own again. Thanks :)

I wish to mix Patas Monkey With an ungulate species for a new Project I have. Any idea what species would be the best? :/

Or does mixing them With ungulates is a bad idea? Only saw Patas monkeys in single-species enclosure so far, but you never know...

I'd exhibit them with a hippotragine (Roan comes to mind especially), alcephaline (Wildebeest, Topi), or tragelaphine (Kudu, Eland) antelopes. Patas monkeys are fairly good sized so anything smaller... ehhhhhhhhhhhhh wouldn't risk it.

@Uolym: Or you can combine them with black rhinos. That's also possible.

Uolym - I think a good combination is Patas Monkey and African Lion or perhaps African Buffalo.

This is a good idea, I already have a herd of Roan antelopes, so it is settled! Thanks!

Lynxlynx : Nice idea too, I always heard Black Rhinos were quick to anger but Patas Monkeys are the fastest primates. With the right exhibit, they should be ok. Maybe for a bachelor group.

Jajik1 : I would not mix them With lions (natural predator), unless I was showed the mix works in real life. Same for African Buffalo, except maybe in a huge multispecies exhibits.

Yes, black rhinos aren't that easy to combine but it's also not that difficult.
It could be that black rhinos are quick to anger but any monkey / rhino combination I know are working well.
In Leipzig the rhino bull which is living together with patas monkeys and cheetahs don't really mind them as well as in Magdeburg where the rhinos don't really mind the colobus monkeys.

Pull my finger!

Any cool monkey combinations, preferably with guereza or mandrill?

I'm aware of some, such as with Pygmy hippos, but I'm curious anyhow :P

IIRC Mandrills can be kept with crested porcupines.

Detroit has a gorilla/drill combination and the two species don't seem to mind.

Never knew porcupines and mandrill can get along fine :P
