@Vision not sure but yes there are plenty of wild animals that has actually entered and left the exhibit which is probably why they were carrying out renovations on the Treetops Trail exhibit. @Dylan Zebra and Bontebok are an okay mix but Elephants as far as I know aren't kept with ungulates because they can get pretty mean towards them |

Could I combine gharial and indian rhino, and white cheeked gibbon? I was thinking of doing something like this...![]() but with a smoother/slicker island for the gharials and gibbons. |

I feel like the gibbons would be pestering the gharial too much and the rhino and gharial will compete to the point of agressive towards the water space. In most Zoos i've seen, especially in places with your RTZI zoo's climate, the Indian rhinos are almost always in the water area in the exhibit, which would cause directangular competition wit the gharial. As you most surely know, the gibbons and rhinos are fine together.

Rhino and gharials could work if they had separate water areas. A waterfall and cliff could be used to seperate the animals while giving the illusion that they can interact. I took the liberty of making this totally fantastic diagram.

Yeah, definitely not together. I don't think they'd mind each other much, but as I have stated way too often, never mix any reptiles that spend their days basking on the ground with gigantic mammals that could crush them while accidentally stepping on em. Generally not a great idea. |

That's what I thought. I just had no idea if there was a possibility. Back to the drawing board it looks like. |

Would Binturongs and Reeve's Muntjac be able to be comparable with eachotner and a decently sized enclosure with climbing structures for the binturongs to be able to get away from the Muntjacs from? |

It should be fine, just make sure to separate the muntjacs when in breeding season or with a fawn. |

Give the muntjacs areas to retreat to more so than the binturongs. The deer aren't likely to bother them, much, and if they did the bint could simply climb away. Binturongs are really bad at chasing anyways so if one was to attack a muntjac there probably wouldn't be much issue. Edited by Admiral General Aladeen, Dec 20 2015, 01:25 AM.

I guess so, although it doesn't really make sense geographically wise. |

Could I combine Leatherback turtles, Sperm whales, Saolas, Javan rhinos, Bajis and Cross river gorillas? I was thinking a nocturnal, desert-themed walkthrough-style exhibi |

Hmm, Cairo Zoo does basically that exact combination, but then with Eastern lowland gorillas instead of Cross River. Where is your zoo located though? Might be hard to combine with the climate. Also, I'd add some vines and ropes for the animals to climb in. |

What also makes a good combo for an adjacent exhibit are Feral hogs, Chimpanzees, Red-eared sliders, Coyotes, Bald eagles, Blue whales, Asiatic lions, and House crickets, just be sure the insects won't harass the chimps. A water moat should suffice. Gharials and Platypus could be thrown in, just make sure the gharials and the platypuses get along. A good example, just add a bit of electric wire and that water moat and you should be Gucci.

Be careful though, red eared slider are invasive and have been detrimental to blue whale populations as they eat the young. Be sure to separate the whales when they have calves with them. |
