Just a separate nest box would be fine for that, though, no? |

Yes but the whales will require fresh bales of hay daily because blue whales in the wild have been noted to make new nests for their young every night! Alternatively the sliders can be moved off exhibit in breeding season. Conger eels can be added because they will provide enrichment for the whale calves. Also have any combinations with pelicans (aside from of course other waterfowl) been done? Edited by Admiral General Aladeen, Dec 20 2015, 09:57 PM.

Toronto has pelicans and penguins together IIRC, and flamingos are also commonly kept. |

Alwetterzoo Münster has White pelicans with their savanna exhibit, which I'm sure you could fill in whatever way you wanted. I don't think they enter the exhibit much however, more just the wet moat in front of it. Jurong bird park keeps all pelican species together in a large pelican lake, which is attached to the flamingo lake (With greater and lesser flamingos) in such a way that the Pelicans can enter the flamingo lake, but not the other way around. Additionally, they also have an African village boardwalk type exhibit at the beginning of the zoo, keeping White pelicans with Saddle-billed storks, Grey crowned cranes, Marabou, Paradise cranes and a Shoebill. |

In 2011, these species were in that exhibit: Pygmy Hippo Western Sitatunga Northern Talapoin (The signage and website says Southern, but that's just wishful thinking) Drill Mona Guenon Egyptian Goose African Black Duck I can't find any more recent lists, but ZTL does state that they have De Brazza's monkeys as well. Oh and before I forget, Singapore Zoo used to have an exhibit / show tank with a pair of White pelicans, Californian sea lions, Antillean manatees, and African penguins (With the penguins having access to a separate area where none of the other species could get). Also, Antwerp zoo keeps their Dalmatian pelicans together with their Common hippopotamuses. Generally, just throw Pelicans in with whatever and they'll do just fine. |

Yes you can do that. I also know harbor can be combined with grey seal, elephant seal and Steller (I think) sea lion. |
