Mongoose Lemur ~ Eulemur mongoz General Information Class: Mammalia Order: Primates Family: Lemuridae Genus: Eulemur Species: Eulemur Location and Habitat Mongoose lemurs live in the dry tropical forests of Madagascar. Conservation Status ![]() Sizes
In Zoos Type of Exhibit: (In which type of exhibit should the animal be kept in?) The mongoose lemur should be kept like other lemurs. They should have an outdoor exhibit with lots of trees and branches and and indoor exhibit that mimics their natural habitat. In a smaller exhibit without a moat around it it is highly recommended to have a roof on the fence that you put in. The mongoose lemur is a skilled climber and should require many climbing objects. For fencing use a material similar to an aviary's mesh to contain your lemurs. Temperament: The temperament of the mongoose lemur is not well studied. One thing however is they live in small groups. When groups encounter each other physical confrontations are rare. Aggressive vocalizations are made instead. Mongoose lemurs are friendly towards other species of lemurs and will do quite well sharing an exhibit together. Diet:
