Through hard work, weeks of research, 99% perspiration, and GTA.

Update:

It's so annoying to work on something, put it in the game, run the game, test the thing, turn off the game, change some stuff on it, put it in the game, run the game, test the thing, etc...

It goes on and on.

The cool thing about ReShade is that you can edit it and put it in your ZT2 Program Files folder while the game is still running and it'll automatically change.

It's a real time saver. X3

Oh, and I released the full pack of my sea clams in the festival download topic. :P

Due to college, I have had absolutely no time to work on ReShade. However, I will have free time next week so I will work on and release ReShade then.

Until then, here is a brief Q&A of ReShade/ENB so you can understand it better.

- What are Shaders?

In the field of computer graphics, a shader is a computer program that is used to do shading: the production of appropriate levels of color within an image, or, in the modern era, also to produce special effects or do video post-processing.

- What is "post processing?"

Post processing means whatever is done to a photo after the capture. Usually it refers to image manipulation in software program, like Gimp, Photoshop, etc etc. Post processing can be as simple as minor adjustments of levels, color, and sharpness, or it may mean altering the original file almost completely to create a different image altogether.

- What is ENB?

ENB is simply a post processing algorithm that enhances the graphics of your game.

- What is ReShade?

Quoted from the main website:
Quote:

ReShade is an advanced, fully generic post-processing injector for games or alike. Imagine your favorite game with ambient occlusion, real high quality bokeh depth of field, color correction and more ... ReShade provides a generic way to access both color and depth information (latter is automatically disabled during multiplayer to prevent exploitation) and all the tools to make it happen.

The possibilities are endless! Advanced depth-edge-detection-driven SMAA antialiasing, screen space ambient occlusion, depth of field, chromatic aberration, dynamic filmgrain, automatic saturation and color correction, cross processing, multi-pass blurring ... you name it.

ReShade features its very own shading language and transcompiler. The syntax is based on HLSL, adding useful features designed especially for developing post-processing-effects: Define and use textures right from the shader code, render to them, change renderstates, retrieve color and depth data, request custom values like timers or key states, ...

And that's not it. Write your shaders just once, they'll work everywhere, regardless of your target being Direct3D or OpenGL: ReShade takes care of transcompiling to the right shader model and language.

- What is "MasterEffect"?

Quoted from ReShade forums:
Quote:

The MasterEffect shadersuite is a huge shader library for ReShade, containing everything from simple image adjustments like color saturation, contrast and brightness to complex post processing effects which let today's triple A video game titles look they way they do, such as Depth of Field, Ambient Occlusion, Global Illumination, Bloom, Lens Flares and many more. No matter if you want to compensate monitor specific color differences or spice up old titles to a point where they put 5 years newer titles to shame, MasterEffect contains everything you can imagine and more.

Originally a small shader collection for the popular ENBSeries mod in an attempt to unify all different shader plugins available, MasterEffect quickly grew to the huge shader library it is today. Powered by ReShade, giving your game a graphical rejuvenating has never been so easy.

- Will this work on my lame old computer?

Yes, yes it will. ReShade ME, aka ReShade MasterEffect, will work on any PC that has DirectX, Windows Vista and higher. From old crappy computers to the new high-tech ones.

Keep in mind that it does not work on Mac.

- Will my computer be able to take it?

I will release 3 versions. High, Medium, and Low.

The first release, ZT2 ReShade ME - Cinema, will contain the following effects:

1) Technicolor : Attempts to mimic the look of an old movie using the Technicolor three-strip color process. Algorithm from SweetFX

2) Cineon DPX : Should make the image look like it's been converted to DXP Cineon - basically it's another movie-like look similar to technicolor.

3) Sepia : Sepia tones the image.

4) Gaussian Anamflare: Applies a horizontal light beam to bright pixels.

5) Bloom: Makes bright lights bleed their light into their surroundings.

6) Sharpen: Sharps the image but may increase aliasing.

The release will be separated in 3 packs - High, Medium, and Low. Each pack will contain the effects listed above, but some effects will be disabled to reduce lag, hence the packs' names.

Here are the effects that will be disabled in each pack.

1) High Performance: All effects enabled. Highly suggested for either heavy computer or simply for photography rather than gameplay.

2) Medium Performance: Gaussian Anamflare disabled, all other effects enabled. Most suggested to download for moderate computers.

3) Low Performance: Gaussian Anamflare and Bloom disabled, all other effects enabled. Absolutely NO FPS drops.

- How are the effects configured?

Pretty much like your usual ZT2 coding. Just simply edit the values via Notepad.

- Can you explain what is ReShade in English, please?

ok. You know how TV works, right? You can change the TV modes to "gaming", "movie", etc. and you can change the colors, brightness, and contrast.

It's basically like that. That's how it can be used in almost any PC. It's just simple graphics that TV uses, but with even more cool effects.

So that's it for the questions I can answer.

If you have any more questions, please leave a reply and I'll be happy to answer! ;)

Thanks for taking the time to read! I'm really enjoying configuring this for you guys! :like:

Lenzflare spikes up lag a lot. It will be in the High Performance pack.

Added "godrays".

It generates a ray of light from the brightest pixel, which is the sun.

Need to reduce intensity.
