attempted fixer of little things

So I don't need to edit any individual parts of the file to say what screen size I want?

Nope, it's a simple download and you magically get a widescreen. :like:

Hope you enjoy it!

Now I just need to figure out which one to download. I don't have Ultimate Collection - I bought all expansions separately (so I do have all expansions). Does that make a difference?

EDIT: Nevermind :O Got it to work! Thanks guys <3 Now I just need to fix my graphics settings because there's some screen tearing weirdness.

Is there a way to fix the placement of the ''preview'' screen of objects? Because of the widescreen hack, the objects ''float'' next to the box they're supposed to be in.

That was fixed in the most recent version, at least it works for me. It is tailored for a 16:9 screen ratio, so if you have something different you have to adjust the positions manually.

Ive noticed that in widescreen (I run at 1280x768) with the widescreen hack, the star backdrops (the ones that fill up when your zoo gains stars) don't line up properly with the star objects (the ones that appear as your zoo gains stars). This is because the star backdrops are a texture that gets stretched, and the star objects are rendered and don't get stretched. I managed to fix it for myself by editing the UI/maingame/starwells.dds file.

I've also noticed that when you transition from overhead view to first-person view or vice-versa, everything stretches out, as though there's some camera definition file for that which hasn't been edited. However, since that lasts less than a second, it's only a minor quibble.

I think I also fixed that in the latest version of the Z2F. Redownload and test again, please. ;)

I've installed the widescreen thingie, but when I wanted to put in some hot-desert tortoises the game crashed. Now I was wondering if it requires specific settings like high, low, best or whichever settings there are. Could anyone give me a little help with this?

That's completely unrelated to the widescreen patch. It does not change any requirements.

Oh, okay. Thanks for you answer, HENDRIX. Then I'll go on a search what caused it.

Hendrix, I have downloaded the files from the link below. I have UC, but I cannot seem to get this to work for me. Am I using the wrong files?

Added the .z2f file to my ZT2 folder and replaced the zt.exe file with the extracted ZT.exe file from the "ZT2_UC_Widescreen" rar file.

what all do i download? i tried the z2f but it didn't work and messed with the ui. it made switching between building mode (or whatever it's called) and guest mode sort of buggy too.

When I install this the stars are out of place, but from reading through the posts it seems like this was fixed quite some time ago. I have tried both the UC and UC NoCD .exe files and I've tried re-downloading the .z2f file, but none of it worked. Any idea why this is or how I could fix it? Posted Image
