I love taking photos, and when I saw there was a photography section here, I couldn't resist! I have a simple little pocket camera, but I do my best. Most photos are taken in my backyard or at my family's houses. If they are somewhere special, I'll say. Here's a few to start off with, mostly chosen at random: My cat's footprint next to the prints of a bird. ![]() A toad amongst some violets. ![]() A bush (of which kind I don't know) starting to bud in the Spring. ![]() A tagged monarch butterfly. ![]() A pale, pink rose. ![]() A family friend's cat, named Lucy, relaxing on a swinging bench (is that what they're called?). ![]() A really sad-looking daisy. ![]() A car that exploded really loudly and freaked me out. Smelled terrible, too. I feel like taking this photo gave me lung cancer. ![]() A mouse I saved from my cat. She was just batting the poor thing around. She never even eats them, she just leaves their bodies laying around. ![]() A second picture of the mouse. Don't worry, I let him go in a pile of sticks after taking photos. ![]() I hope you enjoy these photos! Helpful criticism is welcome. Don't worry, I don't take offense. Also, on an added note, my camera died a little before Winter started. I'm looking for a new camera, but there are so many I can't really decide which. I was previously using a Canon Powershot SD1400 IS, but I'm wanting something better now. Better zoom capabilities/higher quality zooms, being able to focus better close up and far away, and better depth perception are things I'm really wanting. If you have any good suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them! Also, should I use spoilers? Edited by bluebell12, Feb 19 2015, 09:22 PM.

Cool! You're a great photographer, Bluebell. The toad and the mice are my favourites. And sorry, I know next to nothing about cameras... Can't help you there. |

Thank you! I'm glad you like them, I like those ones, too. They were so adorable, it was fun to take photos of them. And that's okay, it's the thought that counts.

I won't have time to update everyday most likely, but when I can I will. Like now! These photos are going to have the theme of "butterflies and moths". Sadly, I only have one good photo of a nighttime moth, because they're usually blurry. An Eastern Swallowtail Butterfly. ![]() An Ailanthus Webworm Moth, a type of Ermine moth ![]() A Pearl Crescent Butterfly ![]() A Broad-Bordered Hawk Moth ![]() Another Hawk Moth, but I don't know what kind it is. He's brown all over, so if you know what kind it is, tell me. ![]() A Monarch Butterfly ![]() Some Peck's Skippers ![]() ![]() ![]() A Silver-Spotted Skipper ![]() A Silver-Spotted Skipper and a Delaware Skipper. ![]() A plume moth, but of which kind I'm not sure. ![]() And finally, two Red Admirals. They really enjoy sitting all over the walkway to my house. ![]() ![]() I hope you enjoy these colorful little fellas! |

They're so prettyful! The Ailanthus Webworm Moth is such an intricately patterned little creature. And the Red Admiral sitting on your walkways has such a great expression on his face. |

Yeah, it is. I had thought it was a beetle when I first saw it, but when I looked at the photos, I realised the shell was actually wings! The admiral's face is adorable, he looks so curious.

The stingray was in a touch pool, so I got to pet it, too. And yeah, her cat's still going. She can't take very good care of herself anymore, though, so her fur gets matted. I had to cut off dense mats of it this summer. They were pretty painful for her. |
