[anchor]top[/anchor] [anchor]intro[/anchor] Written by: fridooh Hello and welcome to TRT monthly newsletter! We've had a lot going on this month. TRT was going extinct, and a lot of us were afraid we might loose this beloved community. But, when you thought there was no hope left for this site, a new festival began with the return of two of the sites creators, Susan and Danny. Welcome back as admins, guys We hope you all enjoy the festival so far! This months newsletter has a brand new game that you don't want to miss - "Lucky Draw". Make sure you pick a ticket for yourself to have a chance to win silhouettes and pointies. Don't forget to check the new member interviews, game reviews, poll results and puzzles. And make sure to check out this months Community Challenge! Enjoy!
[anchor]events[/anchor] Written by: Fridooh Make sure to check out this new major zoobuilding contest, one of the largest zoobuilding contests ever on this site. Tournament of Builders contains a total of 6 stages to determine who is our absolute greatest zoobuilder. If you love building zoos, this is the place to look! Don't forget to vote for your favorite zoo in the first round, here! Some of us have only been a part of this community for a couple of months, while some veterans have been here many years. The Round Tables second birthday is here and it's time for us all to share our greatest memories from this place, as well as the other ZT2 related sites. So, regardless if you're a new member or a veteran, make sure to share your memories in the Time Capsule! The Time Capsule is the place to look if you want to take a moment to remember the past of this site. This page will also be updated with more questions about the past, so make sure to check it regularly! [go2=top]Back To Top[/go2] [anchor]awards[/anchor] Listed by: fridooh No new awards for this month But, remember to vote! [go2=top]Back To Top[/go2] [anchor]features[/anchor] Listed by: Flower For the festive mood of TRT, the RTZI had arranged two wonderful challenges for it's members. We are glad to present you the RTZI Cryptid Search and RTZI Extinct Exhibition The Cryptid search involves the task of documenting an animal which is out in the wild and comparing it to the cryptids that had been reported over years. Are they real? Well maybe, because a close related animal is still out there. The extinct Exhibition contest wanted the players to build exhibits which are for animals that went extinct recently. Both of these contests are the first steps towards RTZI having it's very own extinct section. [go2=top]Back To Top[/go2] [anchor]spotlight[/anchor] Interviewed by: Flower Hello everyone, Welcome to the spotlight section of our newsletter. Everyone has special traits - some excel in designing animals, some in making wonderful art, some in Literature and some in photography. Among our various members, we found our friend from Thailand, Mathius Tyra! He excels in art as well as in Literature - and his Disney Paleo-fanfiction is a superhit! So, Mathius, tell us about your talents and yourself! 1. When and how did you first become involved in the ZT community? I found ZT community 6 years ago and joined it because in that time, I was very crazy about ZT2 and really wanted to learn to design something. At first... I was only download seeker and was very quiet in the community. However, once I arrived at Tesara, I started to become more active due to role playing and finally have become an active member since, even now that I don't play ZT anymore... 2. When did you start writing and what was your first project? I first wrote story when I was at Tesara.... My first ever literature is a dinosaur documentary base literature called "Jurassic MT's documentaries.... It represents the story of life of a or multiple prehistoric creatures in several ecosystem in each episode. Sadly, only 2 episodes was completely done and the third is left to be half-done.... The literature itself was left behind long time ago... 3. How has the community changed you as a person? Have you allowed it to? Oh! The community changed me a lot! Apparently, it changed my English skill! My English writing before joining the community was so terrible. It's like practicing a lot of English homework throughout those years of being a part of community. I have to learn the proper grammar, new words and manner in English so that I can get along with foreigners in the community. Also, my other view in the world are changed because community.... My knowledge of paleontology, my understanding of homosexual, etc. They were all the result of being the part of this amazing society! 4. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose to live? Well.... I would try living in Scotland or New Zealand.... But well, life in Thailand is already comfy for me. 5. What are your favorite animals? Wow... This question is big! I will say in list, ok? - Mammals: Dolphins - Bird: Corvids, Bird of preys and some Wading birds, albratosses and small passerines too. - Reptile: Snakesss!!! Crocodile and some lizards like Monitors and agamas - Dinosaur: Saurophaganax, Shantungosaurus, several Dromaeosaurs and Diplococids. - Amphibian: Mostly bright colored frogs and the extinct Temnospondyls - Fish: Cichlids, Snakeheads, Gars, Moray eels - Invertebrate: Beetles, centipedes and Cephalopods 6. When did you develop your love for animals? Mainly when I started my expanded fantasy project, The Marvelous Valley Universe. It makes my imagination run wild! And by with the inspiration from Disney, Middle Earth, Warcrafts, etc. I have completely got into writing very very madly! 7. Are you a morning person or a night owl? Kind of both.... My life lately goes to sleep late and wakes up early... Kind of bad for health... Anyway, if I can choose... I would love to get up early more! 8. Want to share any sneak peaks of anything? Well.... I don't know if anyone would care about this, but.... A new writing literature project.... If you are a paleo-nerd, you probably wanna take a look.... Thank you Mathius for allowing me to interview you. We will surely check out your new project (atleast I will, even though I have zero knowledge in Paleontology) and everyone will keep a track on your Disney: The Morrision Formation survival team Literature topic. So friends, enjoy the remaining part! [go2=top]Back To Top[/go2][anchor]staff[/anchor] Written by: Fridooh The Team: We would like to congratulate Crookedjaw who has been promoted from moderator to pointies manager! And let's not forget the return of jragonizer! (even though he's still VIP). This is a place where you, members, can work together with staff to change and update the site - So basically, you already know what's going on behind the scenes. Make sure to check out the section here! Of course, staff are working with more than what's mentioned there. But there's a reason it's not mentioned, cause it's a surprise.. [go2=top]Back To Top[/go2] [anchor]news[/anchor] Reporter: Flower Welcome people to the community news section and a LOT has happened during the previous monthly throughout the community! Let me list them all one by one, while you sit back relax and enjoy! Also, don't forget the popcorn and juice. The festival of Date of the Dinosaurs is a superhit. We remember that we all were given scare of our lives as our beloved TRT was about to go 'extinct'. Luckily it never happened and we were instead given a great festival YAY! Some people weren't happy as such and still now hold grudges. I have a message to them -cheer up! We got a lot of goodies like free pointies, free extinct themed sets and also participated in two rounds of gifting raffles to get pointies animals - of extinct animals! There was another hunting game where we had to find 16 fossils to win something big, and some have given up at 13 - *coughflowercough*. Find the rest people - and if you haven't started; what are you waiting for? Go find'em! There was another search for parts of a Sciurumimus fossil so we can win a sciurumimus pointies animal. Also, we had a new game - a constant risk of pointies and life - the Extinction game. I lost. But congrats to the winners, who fought tactically and made through. BUT people like Franco, me etc spent a LOT of pointies only to lose. Anyways, the festival also had some great contests involving ZT2 photographic skills, building skills etc. We enjoyed a lot, and we bid the dinosaurs goodbye. Feral is enjoying it's Reptile Rampage fest, while we enjoy Dinofest! They are having great things over there like Reptile Sets, Reptile Games and Reptile Exhibit contests. They are also having rescue the egg game in a reptile version. It's a wonderful festival, so be sure to check it out! Click on the feral banner above to go there. [go2=top]Back To Top[/go2] [anchor]animal[/anchor] Written by: Fridooh Banner: Fridooh Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Chordata Class: Mammalia Order: Artiodactyla Genus: Capreolus Species:C. capreolus Range: General: The deer are very small in relation to other deer. With a shoulder height of 60-70 cm and weight of 20-30 kg it is among the smallest. The name of the deer comes from the ancient Swedish rådjur which means speckled animals. The deer are just spotted during its first week , then replaced the coat with a more uniform reddish or grayish brown color. The behind is for most deer white. The body is elongated and the neck is relatively long. Its ears and eyes are large and the muzzle pointed. Between the male and the female is a low sexual dimorphism, male weighs only a few pounds more than the female, and is a bit larger in stature. Clearly characteristics between the male and the female is the male antlers while the female does not. In addition, it also has a tuft of hair on the male genitalia during abdominal unlike the female who has a five cm long tawny hair brush. The deer have several scent glands give off scent markings. Habitat: Deer occur in both deciduous as pine forests, Mediterranean forests, heathlands and the wetlands. It is a so-called selective eater which means that it prefers herbs and deciduous trees while grasses and other plants with high fiber content only eaten a lesser extent. The deer also eat fungi , especially mushrooms. This limitation in food means that the species is adapted to take advantage of early successional stages of a forest development when such grazing plants are especially common. In addition, they live side by side with other deer such as fallow deer, which are predominantly herbivores. Diet: Deer usually deny plants as Allium and Fritillaria and virtually all species in the family Ranunculaceae do, ie anemones of various kinds, Christmas roses, columbine, monkshood and delphiniums, marigolds, Moses' burning bush, foxglove flowers, bridal veil and poppy. They don't either fancy herbs like wormwood, tarragon and southernwood, as well as coarse grasses such as elephant grass. Euphorbia , purple dressed, nepeta , Bistort , mullein , Thread-leaved tickseed , lady's mantle , Anaphalis margaritacea , plume spirea and the European Wild Ginger deconstructed too. Threats: The deer, unlike, for example moose, can not digestive and need high-quality food to survive. In areas where winters can be harsh, the deer have difficulty accessing food, and up to 30-40 percent of the population can die of starvation, especially when there is deep snow on the ground for a long time making this the biggest killer. Mainly beats this to animals with lower ability to retrieve food that newborns, younger males and older animals. The tribe has, however good resilience, and returns to the previous number after a few years. Viral diseases are uncommon. Some few cases of malignant katarrfeber (MCF) were observed. This is a viral disease of low infectivity but high mortality. Bacterial diseases are more common, mainly listeriosis (Listeria monocytogenes). Listeria bacteria are generally on the ground and in the diet. Some cases of listeriosis in domestic animals have been observed in association with the feeding of silage. The disease often occurs as a general infection or inflammation of the brain and meninges. Sick animals often exhibit movement disorders such as circle time due to central nervous system disorders. Although avian tuberculosis (Mycobacterium avium) are sometimes found in deer, and may partly give rise to general infection and to influence organs like liver, spleen and lymphatic system. In the lymphatic system, the disease can occur in the more chronic form, mainly in the intestine anterior lymph nodes swell up considerably. Like many wild animals, deer suffer from many parasites, but most do not cause special problems. Lungworms has been found in dense deer populations, and gives rise to reduced fitness and hard, greenish nodules in the lung tissue. Above all young animals are exposed. Biting pests, mainly lice of the species Damalinia Cervi, is quite common in deer, but normally causes only minor irritation. Even Lipoptena Cervi can cause heavy infestation with itching and hair loss as a result. Ticks are also common; in some cases the animals found covered with approximately 2000 ticks. The natural growth cycle of the deer horn is controlled by a range of hormones, which are produced by means pituitary, thyroid, adrenal glands and testes. At disturbance in any of these bodies may cycle is disturbed, causing the bast skin is not furbished and bass horns to grow unchecked. This leads to so-called wig horn formed which can have such sizes that they hang down over the eyes and blinds the animal. Wig Horn are relatively common in deer. Even females can suffer from similar symptoms in old age, but they can drop their horns. A major cause of death among newborn kid is predation by foxes which can take up to 30 percent of the newborns when they lie and then in the tall grass. The service is operated between 15 000 and 20 000 wildlife accidents with deer each year. [8] In particular accidents occur during late summer when the rut occurs and the animals move much. Weight & Height: Height: 60-70 cm Weight: 20-30 kg ZT2 Animal Guidelines: The Roe Deer are usually not found in zoos. If you keep roe deer in your zoo, make sure their exhibit has a large off-show area that's always accessible - these animals tend to get really nervous and can die from stress. Their habitat should be a rather dense boreal forest/temperate forest. Roe deer have a variety of diseases that cause death so it's actually a rather difficult animal to have in captivity. Pointies Animal: ![]() You can get the Row Deer in our Pointies Shop [go2=top]Back To Top[/go2] [anchor]questions[/anchor] Interviewed by: Flower Hello everyone, we will get to know some more people this month. We have interviewed this time three of our beloved friends, Burroughs, Narukota and our moderator Kaleb. Personal: 1) How will you like to progress your love life? Do you want to fall in love? Yeah sure. why not. ~ Narukota I'd like to fall in love, I already have before. It's a great feeling, just... Don't get into a relationship with someone who already has a boyfriend, that doesn't always work out well. ~ Burroughs I do want to fall in love some day, but only with the right person. If I meet a girl that I really love, then why not marry her and start a family. ~ Kaleb 2) Do you sing, dance, draw, play sports, write literature, photograph or just sit idly in front of the computer? I can't sing or dance to save my life, but I do have a passion for art, whether it be on a computer or traditional. I've also recently taken up photography, and I am really enjoying it. As far as sports go, I'm currently just running track and pole vaulting. (and no, not over rivers. :P) I'm also doing a considerable amount of lifting and working out, as any athlete would. I played football (US) in the past, and I'm thinking about playing next year, but that is yet to be determined. This may seem like a lot, but I'm actually really unproductive. ~ Kaleb I sit idly in front of the computer ~ Narukota I enjoy music most of all; it has a personal element I don't really find elsewhere. Other than that I generally like art, but I get bored quickly and rarely finish things. ~ Burroughs 3) What are your plans for surviving a zombie apocalypse? I plan to pack my laptop, my MP3, some bottles of water, and some chips. Then I'll go hide out at internet cafes. ~ Narukota I have never thought about this one, and I don't intend to start thinking up superfluous answers now. ~ Burroughs Please, I live in Texas, we'll just shoot them before they even cross the border. ~ Kaleb Nature: 1) Favorite flower? OR do you even like flowers? My favorite flower is the Blue Bonnet. ~ Narukota I don't mind flowers, but I don't pick favorites with them. ~ Burroughs bluebonnets - Texas state flower ~ Kaleb 2) Which part of nature besides animals, inspires you the most? I have a hard time choosing, but I would have to go with trees, or canyons, or sunsets, or forests, or mountains... ~ Kaleb The environment and it's atmosphere. It's beauty inspires me to draw it or design it for ZT2. ~ Narukota I quite enjoy the snow with everything blanketed in white. I also find the tempestuous aspects quite musically inspiring and just being alone at night is blissful sometimes. ~ Burroughs 3) Do you think Mokele Mbembe or any closely related animal may still be out there? No, I don't. ~ Burroughs I'd say it looks similar to the Loch Ness Monster. ~ Narukota I sincerely doubt it, but it's not necessarily impossible. Who knows what could be out in those last unexplored corners of the world? ~ Kaleb Community: 1) If you are a designer: What is your dream project? If you aren't: Do you have plans to design ZT2 stuff ever? I have no plans to do anything, I don't think it's something I would really enjoy. ~ Burroughs I would like to take up designing, but I really don't have enough free time at the moment. Maybe I could try it this summer. ~ Kaleb Honestly, I don't have any dream projects. I only got into designing because I wanted to make mods for the community. Turns out, I really enjoy designing. It's an everyday addiction. I guess my dream project is to make something revolutionary for ZT2 for the community to have. ~ Narukota 2) Who is the funniest person here at TRT? Why so? Crooky, Kaleb, and AVCDPS. They always make that one post everyday that makes me laugh. ~ Narukota That's a tough one... ~ Kaleb Does DinoDating count? But since that was Danny, I suppose Danny then. 3) If you ever commit a banworthy mistake, which gets overlooked by the staff, will you ever report it to the staff? Well, I already am staff so I guess I kinda have too. ~ Kaleb No. ~ Burroughs Pretty much, yes. I just did something that was banworthy a few days ago. It was a mistake, though. I felt terrible about it. I can't stop apologizing. ._. ~ Narukota Thanks for the wonderful answers, you three. It was a pleasure interviewing you. Also, it's touching that Narukota is so justified. And so is Kaleb. But Burroughs sucks - he won't even complain his mistakes to the staff! Nah, just kidding! Until next time, bye! I borrowed it from a friend about a year ago and I've been hooked ever since. I bought the remastered version for ps4, which included a new Grounded Difficulty and the side game "The Last Of Us - Left Behind". I play this game way to many hours a day. It all begins when an infection spreads through the country and those who are infected turns into "Runners" and later, "Clickers" and "Bloaters". They are basically Zombies. The main character, Joel, tries his best to save himself and his twelve year old daughter - but the daughter gets shot and killed. The actual game takes place 20 years after this happening, and the world is not as we know it today. I'm not going to spoil to much, you'll have to play the game yourself, you won't regret it! I love everything about this game. The story is very strait forward, there's not an open world to explore and there's only one ending. What's interesting is, that you can almost go through the whole game without being in combat. You basically stealth and hide from enemies and zombies, and walk passed them. They can hear you and see you if you're too close, so you need to think and plan your way through the game. The combat is pretty easy and very fun. As further you get into the game, the more different weapons and tools you'll find. Who knew shooting a zombie in the head with a bow and arrow could be so fun? The best thing about this game is defiantly the story - all the characters and conversations are made in such a realistic way and it kind of feels like watching a really good movie. We hope you all enjoy the festival so far!
