Amazing job with the taipan guys! The shelter is awesome. I'm surprised that no one has noticed the new feature that this animal has  No one has asked about what it shows in the picture! Too bad, because is pretty awesome and innovative.

*prances in on high horse* Steve wouldn't have wanted that, I don't think. Even if he did, it's not so much the animal's fault as his for getting so close to it. He knew he had a risky job, particularly getting up close like that. The animal felt threatened, it defended itself the way it knew how. Unfortunately, it meant a sad day (many sad years, actually) for conservationists. Plus it's been awhile so the bugger's probably already dead. *plops onto pony of sad* I was thoroughly depressed when it happened, and then again when I graduated high school. When I was a little girl my aunt said she would take me to Australia when I graduated, to see one of his shows at the zoo. We ended up going on a cruise instead, which wasn't bad, but still... it was sad to think about. *back on discussion camel* I second the memorial statue DL. I haven't seen one yet which is odd? But maybe not really since I haven't seen a lot of people statues. What are you guys expecting to do about the conservation status of the taipan I wonder? I usually use IUCN for all of my species conservation status needs but it doesn't have a status. Maybe near threatened? According to Wikipedia it's extinct in some regions but least concern in the outback and near threatened in Queensland. Great work on the snake, and it's shelter. It's weird because I don't think I've ever seen one as a DL before, yet it's one of the most venomous snakes out there. Anyways, if you guys really are up for suggestions, here's one for you: Bennett's tree-kangaroo. They're cute, endangered, and one of only two species of tree kangaroo in Australia. I've looked at the renders and I can't for the life of me figure it out. EDIT: Oh I see it now, the way it was positioned I couldn't really tell what it was. Sheding snake, cool! Can the Taipan bask on the log as well as hide under the rock? Edited by Chase, Mar 9 2015, 05:45 PM.

Excellent job on the taipan, quick question but will you do anything coding wise to represent the snakes extremely deadly venom Ex; an animal slowly getting sick after they're bitten. Don't know if it can be done or not just asking if it's possible. |

Great! So once it sheds does it become a movable object or is it only an animation? I think it would be awesome if you could move the shed skin around and use it for other exhibits or decoration
