Paraburnetia is a small, enigmatic animal from the South African Karoo. It is only known from a single skull, so we know absolutely nothing about its postcranial morphology. Its closest relative which we have any useful postcranial material for whatsoever is the distantly related Biarmosuchus, so I based mine off of that taxon. The single skull we have shows a number of bumps and bosses, which I interpreted as supporting keratinous horn-like structures. We don't know for sure if basal Therapsids like Paraburnetia had fur, whiskers, or mobile lips and noses, so I took a chance and put them on anyway (All evidence either for or against this is dubious at best. The only thing I could find that was even remotely relevant was a study on facial innervation in Cynodonts, which hinted that Biarmosuchians may have had enough facial nerves to support muzzles and whiskers. This study was inconclusive, however. As well, the closely related Lende chiweta seems to show large infraorbital foramen, indicating some degree of facial innervation.) I currently have it rigged to Meerkat animations. This works well, except that the tail dips into the ground quite horrendously. I'd like to fix this, but I'm running into problems exporting .BF files and may end up just rigging it to Red Panda animations. Edited by Acinonyx Jubatus, Aug 30 2016, 02:33 PM.

I didn't even know this animal existed, and as you say you took a lot of liberties making it, but I have to say you made a wonderful work. It looks beautiful from an artistic pont of view, I really like it. I hope you manage to fix the issues, keep up the great work

Ceratosaurus nasicornus, you're not the only Horny predator XD... Seriously, why so few preds with headgear? It seems strictly for paleozoic predators and dinosaurs... Also, why is it everything you make looks like you are copying a living animal? I bet if we saw a living Paraburnetia that it would look like this. |

Probably because headgear has a tendency to get in the way when you're trying to use your face to kill things. There was supposed to be a Mesonychid with horns (Pyrokerberus) but that was revealed to be a hoax. Plus most mammalian predators aren't all that concerned with display, and what little use they do have for it body posture works fine. And thank you! That is indeed my goal.

Excellent little critter, even though it was a swing and a miss on my part I honestly can't wait to add it to my park. As for coding, if you need any help finishing it up just message me. |

If you know how to fix any of the bugs I mentioned, feel free to post it here. Otherwise it's basically done- I just need to do the baby and female models, which I'll do after the blinking. |

BUGFIX UPDATE: Got the gift to work, Finished up the baby and sexual diorphism, Added blinking and fixed the tail problem and puzzle size. Only bugs left are the puzzle backplane (still invisible) and it doesn't close its eyes when it sleeps. As soon as these are fixed it will be released!

Have you checked the 2sleep txtkeys? These contain code to stop the blink cycle. For the puzzle backplane, maybe swap the BFMAT with an original one? |

I copied the 2sleep txtkeys from the grizzly bear- they look like this.
EDIT: Swapping the .BFMATs did not work. Edited by Acinonyx Jubatus, Sep 7 2016, 09:39 PM.

Does your anim have at least 66 frames? Otherwise it's fine. Not sure about the puzzle then, the XML links to the correct backplane model? |
