Those eyes.... I have never seen such beautiful eyes since JFD dinosaur reveals.

You clearly spent a lot of time to create such beautiful skins for these animals. Amazing work.

They're directly photosourced from real animals. :D And it was actually pretty fast work; I finished the Aquilops texture in maybe a day (not counting the frazzlement I got myself into trying to figure out the markings for the head; My original idea made it look like an old, bald man.) The Deinonychus took longer, but it was mostly the wings that gave me trouble. The rest of the body went pretty quickly.

As a side note, every single texture on both animals was photosourced from an archosaur; No mammals or squamates were used.

not a fan of the coloration on the Aquilops, but that Deinonychus is top-notch! it can still use some more texture on the snout though, right now it look very bland.

BTW, your rendering style confused me on thinking that this is a JFD work xD

also, you used subsurf on the model didn't you? i guess i don't need to remind you not to apply it once put in game
Thanks! Yeah, I suppose the Aquilops could use a little less greenishness and a bit more variation... I'm not entirely sure how I'd fix the Deinonychus' snout, though, since pictures of bare-skinned birds without goosebumps aren't exactly easy to come by.

And no, I am not in any way affiliated with JFD. xD I had no idea they used this kind of rendering style.

And no, no subsurf used on the models at all. In fact, the Deinonychus only has 1,122 vertices, while the Aquilops only has 1271! :D
really? then i am very curious to know how your model look so smooth, cause low poly mesh usually look a bit edgy. especially the eyes, they look very round!

Skill, my friend, it's called skill. :ninja:

Just kidding, I think it may have something to do with my NifSkope lighting settings. The eyes do not take up the entire UV of the eye, there's a little bit of border so that I can meld the texture with that of the head more smoothly. It's not a perfect technique, but it's more realistic than filling the entire UV with the eye.

Forgot to mention the credits. xD The Aquilops is meshed from the Austroraptor's baby Otrodromeus, and the Deinonychus from DM's Raptor Model (the old version, not the updated one.) The skins are from scratch, but I used portions of Longisquama's Shoebill skin on the Deinonychus.

These dinos are amazing AJ ! is the Deino skin based on an eagle ?
Can't wait to see the other stuff you come up with.

Although I'd honestly prefer a Sauropelta over Acrocanthosaurus which has been done dozens of times already, but it's up to you.

Both are very nice :) I especially love the eagle colouration you used with the Deinonychus, though I'd suggest adding a bit more texture to the snout, it looks a bit blurry compared to the rest of the animal right now.

Those Aquilops look cute, but their faces make them look like tiny bullies x3 And now I finally know what that mouth in your signature is!
I love the Deinonychus, too. I adore raptors. The feathers look great! I would hug it if it wouldn't kill me brutally.
