That looks like something from another planet. Is so weird to think those things actually existed at some point. Did they have hair though?

EDIT: that was my way of saying i like it btw xD
Possibly. We have a few pieces of evidence; a coprolite from a Gorgonopsid seems to contain strands of hair-like fibers (though the possibility that they're just fungus fibers can't be discounted) and the fact that Dicynodonts were warm blooded, as confirmed by oxygen isotopes. If any non-Cynodont Therapsids had fur, it would be the Dicynodonts.

I agree with Ignacio, those things look like they came out of an exoplanet or one of their satellites :P

They're adorable regardless.

Probably the coolest Dicynodont reconstruction I've seen so far. I love your creative, all-yesterdays-esque renditions of prehistoric animals, they really bring the subject to life :D

Love the little Lystrosaurus and cannot wait for it to come out, but on a side note what animations will the use?

It actually uses meerkat animations, and they work surprisingly well.

So that's why you were asking about the little buggers so much! Probably one of my most wanted critters done by one of my most favorite designers. Keep up the great work!

Fuzzy... Lystrosaurus?

Erm... I don't know what to think. I mean, I get the logic with them being "proto-mammals" and all... but it's definitely not how ever I imagined them. Apparently slow moving... possibly semi-aquatic... I always envisioned them a with hippo-like appearance.

Frankly, I'm skeptical of the semi-aquatic hypothesis because most of their range in the early Triassic seems to have been extremely arid, with little groundwater. But I'm not the first to reconstruct it as such; Eurwentala has also done so, as well as this little gem I found while searching the interwebs.

Seems to me to be quite an old reconstruction. Does anyone know the artist or when it was made?

AJ, I think we need an intervention for your fur fetish.

Real talk though, it's pretty adorable. I can't wait to play around with it when it's released!
