It's 'Indian' as well. I mean Indian subcontinent. ![]() It is possible that it went there somewhere from Himachal Pradesh or Sikkim. Good lord, they are dangerous.

How did a rhino end up in a city !? It's not the first time i've heard of animals getting in a city like that, but the largest one I knew was a red deer in Prague (I think), and deers can hang around urban areas, so that doesn't surprise me much ... |

We had water buffaloes running around in a city near Doars. Don't expect anything normal around here - wild animals getting in the city is like, a common phenomenon.

Am I the only one who thinks that the crowd made things worse by seemingly trying to follow it around and probably scaring an already confused animal?... |

They are in a situation that is quite difficult to handle. Hence, they don't give much thought to what should they do and what not. |

I understand it's unusual, but if your not trained or know how to deal with such a situation, the better thing to do is usually stay back and away from it. Especially when whatever it is that's the cause of the situation is a large dangerous animal that's easily spooked. |

You cannot blame semi-urban people who have little or no knowledge about 'staying away from potential dangers'. They are like that. It's like telling the pigs to use the bath ready for use. It just wont. Similarly, these people - though warned by their own common instinct - will tend to explore the mysteries of the world that they should avoid, and injure themselves. ![]() But I hope this nuisance goes back to it's home before we here a 'killed Rhino' news from Nepal.

That elephant isn't exactly wild though, you can see a chain around it's foot (the one that the elephant's lifting). Not saying wild elephants don't enter cities, but captive Indian elephants are a more common sight in Indian cities.
