Sooo im not sure if this is the right place to ask this here but i recently got 3 budgies and trying to figure out 1 of my budiges wether its a female or male![]() is the blue one female or male??? @.@ the store owner said its a female... need to confirm this EDIT:finally better view of it

In the first pic the cere is pale blue but then the second pic is pale pink... Judging by the paleness I would say female. |

It's a hen, my female's cere turns light blue outside the breeding season too. Budgies are such lovely animals! I have four of them.

Awesome thanks guys.. its my 1st time having budgies sooo need to knw which is which I always thought if the budgies cere is blue then its a male and if its pink its a female ![]() Again thanks for helping guys @sheater: agree i really love all the color they have especially the fully yellow and white...gonna buy another male later Hahah.. im abit crazy for these budgies now Edited by doNDon0626, Apr 12 2015, 12:43 AM.

Well most of the time that is correct. However it needs to be a pretty deep blue, and not pale. Like the bird in the front of this picture: ![]() Also your female's ceres will probably turn brown and crusty looking during breeding season. That is normal. |
