So here's my (likely not so great) first attempt at starting a mesh. It's supposed to be a Neovenator salerii.![]() Criticism, especially on the accuracy of the model compared to the actual Neovenator, is greatly appreciated. The base model is obviously HENDRIX's Giganotosaurus, and I've attempted to give it a streamlined look without making it shrink-wrapped. Also, yes, that's a "sleeve" of feathers on the arm. |

Eh it doesn't need to be feathered [Carnosaurs weren't feathered according to fossil evidence] but the model looks really really good. The skin will be interesting

The hands need a bit more work in my opinion but the rest looks good so far. Also I think concavenator had quills. So maybe small carnosaurs had them but larger ones didn't. IDK Edited by the dark phoenix, Apr 21 2015, 12:58 AM.

There's been some interesting thoughts on those feathers of Concavenator. No quills have actually been found, but instead what are thought to be quill knobs were found on the arm bones. There has been some talk that those are actually muscle attachment points, as some people believe they are spaced too widely and irregularly to be feathers. Not exactly related, but just adding some stuff I recently heard about. |

Awesome job with the edits, I can tell they've had a lot of effort put into them. ![]() However, you should keep the model aligned with the bones, or else that'll distort like crazy ingame.

Thank you for the positive feedback! I know to align the model with the bones once I finish it up, I just move it around in Blender to get a better view of where I'm editing. As for the feathers, that's pure speculation on my part. I'll make an unfeathered version as well, though, if everyone has a problem with the feathers. Edited by Trichechus, Apr 21 2015, 06:06 PM.

Surprise, surprise! Neovenator is skinned.![]() I've run into some issues with the animal in game so it won't be released yet, and I'm starting a help & support topic on it because I really don't know what's up, but hopefully it can be released in a couple of days. Criticism is still not only accepted, but wanted! |

I think its textureless. Try it to gave it MrGorsh textures. Is it finished skin or WIP? Because the feathers on the arms are not given yet. It's great of course. |

It's textured. Most of the dark green areas use an emu feather texture, and the belly, bottom of the tail, and parts of the face use MrGorsh's scale texture, although it's hard to notice. |

then crank it up mate. a textureless or too softly textured skin would never look good. but the coloration are quite nicely done, so good job your bug seems really weird, i have never encounter such problem before. if you send me the model i can take a look, but i can't guarantee i'll fix it though. |

To be honest, I think the arm feathers would have been better as alphas rather than part of the model. Still looks wonderful and as Bill said, up the anty on the textures and it would make a big and positive difference. |
