I wouldn't call Pinus nigra a Mediterranian scrub tree. It is more typicall of subalpine* zones and in the areas of Southern Spain it largely occurs above 700 meters attitude. Pinus halepensis and Pinus pinaster are the staple tree of the contemporary Mediterranian scrub, mostly due to the massive explotation of Quercus ilex, Populus sp. and Quercus robus and due the fact that it is the most commonly used tree to rehabilitate areas affected by forest fires. *Well actually Mesomediterranian. So yeah I guess Mediterranian scrub is kinda OK, for it... If you are gonna add plants and bushes for the Mediterranian scrub biotope I will recommend this spinny f**** https://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/Genista_scorpius and Rosmarinus sp. I though it was a the Mediterranean biome would suit a black pine, after reading the first sentence of it's distribution. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinus_nigra
Then again it does mention montane forests a couple of sentences further down the page. Edited by Ulquiorra, Aug 31 2015, 05:05 PM.

Real life biomes are a complex thing... But of all in the game Pinus nigra suits Mediterranian scrub best, I think. |

I almost forgot, the trees look great and I really need good european trees. But one question: will at least some of your trees have nodes, so animals can climb and sit on them? |

I think you would have to use those trees wich already have nodes - like the... don't know what it's called in english but since you're a fellow german... Eschenahorn - as a base. Work's like bones, I guess. Or use the raptor bar by zerosvalmont, I think. |

I suggest making a 'Pinus pinea'. It's a very common tree in the Mediterranean coasts (At least in Spain). It's also a perfect kind of tree for te Mediterranean Scrub biome. It's everywhere in the lands around Barcelona! And it can be found "by the sea" and up to 500m or more. http://imgc.allpostersimages.com/images/P-473-488-90/49/4916/PWW9G00Z/posters/stone-pine-pinus-pinea-illustration.jpg |

Woah, I love the tree and the small plants, they are such incredible realistic! As a suggestion maybe small firs like the ones you use for Christmas and which you can see in Sweden a lot ![]() https://www.pitopia.de/pictures/standard/h/holzmann/06/holzmann_761806.jpg |
