Ok to clear some things up about the texture that ya'll are talking about

There is a high detail texture onto the texture to give it the feathrs on the body and the scales on the face and feet. you can't see the texture that well because of the angle those images were rendered.

and I've checked the skinning tutorials alover the community and they won't help me because of the method I chose to do. They use image editing software to make the texture entirely. I used blender to make the textures then I merged them in gimp, so the tutorials and such won't work for the skin.
I made a fur/protofeather gimp brush if you want to use it :)
(airbrushing darker over a solid color works real good with the brush)

ok, let me crack it down for you DRC. the method you are using, which is basically using the texture painting tool in blender to paint the texture and color directly on to your model, instead of having to work with a 2d uv layout on an image editing program. this method, llike any other methods comes with pros and cons.

for pros, because you are painting directly on to the mesh, you can prevent yourself from any seam, which is a common problem in skinning with 2d images. plus, you don't even have to worry about uv mapping, cause you can just use the Smart UV Project option and let Blender unwrap your model for you. this is extremely helpful cause for some (including myself), manual uv mapping is the most boring step when i work with blender.

for cons, blender texturing mode is not the ideal way to skin an organic substance like this, and because it is not a program specialize in this kind of thing, it is no where to compare with pictures editing programs like Photoshop, Gimp... for it does not support layers in skinning, which is very necessary for a good skin. if you want to stick with it, you should makes several different maps, for starter 2 should be enough, a color map, which is a simply coloration, a texture map, contains all the different textures, but in a gray color. professionals may even makes glossy map, bump map, shadings maps, etc...

also, since you are doing sculpt work on your model, you can go a bit more crazy, use more subdivision levels and sculpt some of the textures on it as well. the model is gonna be freakishly high poly, but you are going to bake it in to a bump map anyway. allow me to show 1 of my own work as an example:

Guys calm down about the skin. I don't consider myself good when it comes to texturing so I'm trying to see if I find something that I like, and this I like to use better than a 2d editing software. If the skin is a massive problem for you, you can make your own reskin so it can be the way you prefer it because it'll be PD. For me it's not a problem and I'm going to continue the way I have it, I'm making the mod by myself and thus I make all of the choices and such on it the way I want it.

and bill, that is pretty much what I was doing, I know what to do and such because I've been messing with blender for over 3 years, almost 4, I'm not a noob when it comes to it. I know you were trying to help but if I need help, I'll ask, ok.

here is an update on the guanlong

I've tested the coding ingame with the velociraptor and it does work. While I have to change stuff on like what icons it will use and put in the zoopedia, It is done coding wise. I am still working on the animations, I am over half way done and majority is stuff that is needed are like Call, poop, Kick, ex.

Another image of the animation process

Due to the fact that BFB scripts hate me, I won't be releasing the Guanlong anytime soon because of it. I hasn't been scraped completely (the model and code are too good to just ditch). But I'm working on another project till the BFB scripts issue has been solved.

the Megalosaurus will not have any gender bias as of right now. Now it can target women as well. though it still targets adults, but it likes the bigger guest compared to the ones that need some growing up

I took the BF tyrannosaur rig and edited it to fit the megalosaurus model, hopefully it'll work unlike the camarasaurus and guanlong. Bone weight painting has been a pain though, but I'm getting there.
