I heard you were working on a mermaid! I'm so excited for it to come out (if it hasn't already) and I want to download your New Athens pack! I'll get to the point of this message. I am trying to make a mermaid but I don't have the coding skills and you seem like a great coder. If you aren't too busy, could you code it for me? I won't be able to pay you (I don't know if you even can pay someone for coding your animal but I put that in just so you know), but the credit will be mostly yours. If you can get back to me ASAP, that would be great.

My coding skills are so-so at best. I am lousy at new animations but can code using existing stuff just fine. The mermaid needs to be re-skinned as the new low-vertices version needs a different skin than the old. Once that is done then I will see about releasing it. PM me about what kind of animations your mermaid uses (mine uses oarfish animations with live birth instead of egg laying in the coding) and what sort of coding changes you need. |

The Common Collared Lizard is now working perfectly and I have three little hatchlings running about the exhibit. I will wait for them to grow up and mate themselves before releasing them. The new mermaids are swimming about but still need more testing before release. |

Wow, your unicorns look just like the ones from the first Zoo Tycoon game. Intentional, wasn't it? Well done, great work. But you should change 4 things... First: The male's goatee looks weird. You should give it a beard from one of the existing animals(perhaps the Aurora Designs ibex?). Second: Same deal, but with the horns. Best option would obviously be a narwhal's horn. Funny, given the fact narwhal horns were sold as unicorn horns during the Middle Ages(even the Zoopedia lampshades this). Third: I don't see the tail very well, but have in mind European/Arabian unicorns have a long solid tail with a hair tuft at the end, simular to a lion. Speaking of hair tufts... Fourth(and last): If possible give it hair tufts on its hooves. Here are pictures of a white/female and a black/male unicorn: ![]() ![]() Wish you good luck with your life and your projects. Unicorn horn was commonly sold as medicine back then and all sorts of things were sold as it including walrus tusks (of all things) and chiru horns. Easy money for the quacks back then. LOL. Personally I would think a moded sable antelope would be perfect for a unicorn but unfortunately I cannot use blender so must mesh by changing the nif by hand manipulating the vertices. Thus I cannot add parts of other models or add alpha files. The only exceptions are if the model part is a separate nif and designed to fit that model - even then it sometimes does not work. The horn for example originally belonged to the Paranoia unicorn and I had to make it smaller for this model. That caused it to fit incorrectly and it wobbles. Thus this unicorn, I am not happy with it but its still better than the one I made for Unique Unicorns. Plus I am not finished with it yet and may change some things. By the way the new mermaids are working good and are pregnant. I took a lot of pictures but Fraps was acting odd and none came out. No pics in the fraps folder at all. I will restart and try again hopefully without the glitch. |

Mermaid had had her baby and its swimming fine. Just added alpha files to the model to make the hair and fins more natural looking. Still needs a little more testing before release but here are some screenshots... merfolk pair ![]() Mermaid (before alphas. The females would not cooperate for a good picture) ![]() But the mermen did ![]() I am thinking of releasing the New Athens stuff as I make them rather than as packs what do you think? |

Hi there Tamara!! Thank you so much for making the mermaid!! But might I ask: could the female mermaid have something else on her chest than just a regular bra?? Like maybe she could have something more ''natural'' such as coconuts or something like that. Or maybe no bras at all (obviously you couldn't show that here). I dunno I just feel that having no support and/or having a support made from something you can find in the sea would more sense for a mermaid. But anyway don't take this too seriously, its just my opinion lol. If the mermaid stay like that I will still be 100percent happy (even if I wasn't youll still don't have to change anything haha). Just saying that the above would be a nice touch IMO. |

I know its hard to tell from the screenshot (the lighting sucks ) but she is actually wearing seashells (like those of a clam) over her breasts.

I finally fixed the mermaid skin problem and all but one bug is fixed. Here are the final versions of the male Unicorn and Mermaid.. Unicorn final Version ![]() ![]() Mermaid Final Version Mermaid ![]() Mermaid under water ![]() Mer-Couple ![]() Mer-Kids ![]() Family Group ![]() and a final treat, the Merfolk in action! https://youtu.be/sJfQeWk5wvA The only bug left is that the mermaid just randomly turns dark for a few seconds. Sometimes up to 5 minutes pass before it flashes again. The blinking behavior is removed and so is the fish-reflection so I am baffled by its cause. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? |

Can't wait for the mermaids!! But just wanted to ask: Why aren't the mermaids moving in the YouTube video test?? They look so weird in a straight line floating from one point to the next XD Plus: Is it possible to add centaurs in New Athens? It might be a bit unlikely, but possible; otherwise make them into a statue. |

Oh my heavens! The female unicorn looks dare I say- perfect! As for the male, it's almost perfect. It would be better if you made its mane, goatee and tail hair-tuft black as well(or at least very dark gray, like its snout). Please let the unicorns be Temperate forest European animals like in ZT1. As for the merfolk, I will not talk about them since they(along with Magnet the bear) are my least favourite animal in ZT1. Well done, great work. All of these downloads are a work of art.

Hi there just saying that I personally think the way the mermaids moves is a bit weird... shouldn't they get horizontal when they move instead of staying straight?? I mean you don't have to change anything if you don't want to obsiously, but IMO it would be better the way stated above... |
