I am doing a little project with bartlomies at Gaia called New Athens. It is a collection of classic mythical beasts. I am doing most of the work while he supplies ideas. So far I have the Greek Drakon (the wingless, crested dragon that guards the tree upon which grow the Golden Apples of Immortality) and the fiery salamander. The tree and a new lava pool shelter are also finished. drakon ![]() salamander ![]() The Drakon uses the mediterranian biome and the Salamander uses the Volcanic biome I changed the .dds of DM's cobra venom to a cone of fire so the Drakon blasts out a quick puff of orange and red flame instead of poison. It's quick and looks more like colorful smoke than fire but it works for me. P.S. I wish all the old Biomes were Public Domain so I could release a hack so they would work better with the new biome system. Oh well I still have the old biome shell. I think I will do the cockatrice next and I am working on a winged dragon. |

Have a problem with the dragon. I meshed wings from the zoomap mesh but instead of attaching to the model's back they float about 15 feet above the dragon when it is in game. I sometimes have the same problem when adding horns to a model. Does anyone have any tips to correct this? On the other hand (claw?) I have decided to make a new status filter for all the Spec World animals. They will now be under Speculative and I have made a hack that change all the previously made spec animals to the new status. This hack will be needed for all future spec releases and it will include a remake of the Green Lancehead (just remove the old one) and a bonus animal, the Disco Duck. Disco Duck ![]() Green Lancehead remake ![]() I wanted to add a music rock that played the song Disco Duck but it did not play. I think the problem is that the only version I have is an mp3. Speaking of Spec here is another animal from Asia, the Balundar... ![]() This one ha been done for a while but I just fixed a bug involving the eggs. Next up for this pack will be the blue-maned dogbunny and Celestial Long-Fung. Edited by Tamara Henson, Feb 12 2016, 03:09 PM.

Here is version 2.3 of the classic European Dragon![]() and the Spec World Celestial Long-Fung, a nectar eating tropical tweety bird... ![]() The bonus spec animals are almost done testing - I am having a minor bug with the disco duck juvenile using the wrong model - and will be uploaded soon. |

The European dragon's (wings?) look stretched. Other than that, it looks good! |

that's because they are stretched . I can't use blender but can use Nifskope to mesh. I tried to add wings to the model but the result either crashed or the wings floated about 20 feet above the model. I finally gave up and just stretched out the skin on the animal's sides. The texture is from a fish fin. I was hoping to create something like this...http://www.sacred-texts.com/earth/mm/img/fig53.jpg rather than a d&d type dragon. The unicorn was also a compromise. I originally used Platypus' Shetland pony but making the legs longer caused so many bugs I finally abandoned it for a more conventional horse. The result lacks the double mane I wanted but at least it works. The horn wobbles though. Is there any way to make horns more stable when added to a model? Unicorn: ![]() On the bright side - HAPPY EASTER the Easter bunny has been submitted here and should be up in the download section soon. No need to go to ZTW I submitted it to the Round Table. Enjoy your chocolate eggs but look out they breed like rabbits! ![]() Note: It's nearly spring an no Easter emotes? |

I have finally found a cow model to use for the JPOG Live Food Remake. Whenever I used any cattle rigged for the Auroch they woud just gallop though the fence. I had to use one rigged to use Gemsbok animations and while going through some of my earlier downloads I found a candidate - the Artifex buffalo which was made from the bongo. Not perfect but it works.![]() I have made a few more such as a gazelle and sheep. Should I put them all in a single pack or make the JPOG remake separate? Here is the New Athen's Chimera hunting a whole slew of live prey. ![]() Thank You Tyranachu for the lion base models and skins. For fans of Spec World here is the Blue-maned Dogbunny. Cute as can be and one of my more successful meshes. ![]() Edited by Tamara Henson, Mar 18 2016, 02:50 PM.

I will release the prey animals all in one pack. I am also working on a skunk. I took several pictures but in every one the blasted critter turned away, ran into bushes, or otherwise ruined the shot. LOL. I will probably upload them next week once all the testing is done. |

I love speculative evolution so it's really cool to see some After Man stuff for Zoo Tycoon! Also really excited to see the skunk, hope that they stand still so you can take a picture, heh. |

Have had a death in the family so things may slow down for a while. Luckily I have a lot mostly finished and just needing testing. Most are for New Athens... The campchurch, an amphibious creature from Africa and Indonesia where the males had a flexible horn like a unicorn with webbed feet. I think in reality that it was the elephant seal. ![]() A Cockatrice made from the RR Secretary bird. ![]() cockatrice variants: ![]() Attacking me -LOL: ![]() A Pegasus: ![]() A wyvern: ![]() And I finally got the striped skunks to corporate... ![]() Just need to finish the zoopedia and gifts and the skunk will be ready. |
