I'm turning to you because I seem to work all the same hours as Geek Squad and etc. employees so I can't ask them. ZT2 isn't even installed at the moment because I forgot how much of a pain in the butt that can be on a newer OS. But basically, my computer starts up once and gets as far as the Windows 7 "Welcome" screen with the loading circle, and then just stays there. The circle doesn't stop. It just goes on forever. I hit the restart button, my computer shuts off (restart button just seems to power it off and doesn't actually start it up), I start it up again via power button, and it goes through without a hitch. Sometimes, it just starts with a blue screen and restarts on its own. Really, what happens before the second startup varies. But why does it do it? This is a brand new computer with Windows 7, we've got maybe a week left to return it because we couldn't afford the extended warranty at the time. It came with Windows 8. Is this potentially an OS issue in which installing a new OS would work, or is this a computer issue and should I return it? Once it gets started it works beautifully. My boyfriend bought it for me as a gaming computer and it's hooked up to a 4k TV as a monitor, and everything is crystal clear and gorgeous. The graphics card can't handle 4k so the resolution is set lower, but it still looks great... once it gets started. |
