Utah. A land of deserts and mountains, seemingly lifeless to some. But in fact, the state is bustling with life. Zoo Tycoon 2: Ultimate Utah will bring some of Utah's most amazing flora and fauna to your zoos.

Now, to the first reveal...........

A lone Mountain Coyote (C. l. lestes) wanders about Northern Utah mountains.

Credit for the model goes to Zerosvalmont.

This is a remake of my old attempt at this pack, before I could even photosource my skins. I plan for this to be a large expansion, so it will likely take a while to complete. Please do suggest any animals or plants you'd like in the pack.

Correct me if I'm wrong, wasn't a corn snake planned for the expansion ? I'd badly love to see it finished!

And nice work on the coyote, although a larger pic woul help judging better.

The coyote looks pretty good, though I agree that a larger picture would be nice.
Also, I suggest a California Condor, even though they can only be found in a small portion of Utah. However, we're still in dire need of one.

I think pics like those we use for the Download Library would work well for showcasing your animals better ;)
Right now I can't see much, but I have the impression that the texture is currently too big for the body.

I've edited the original post, so now it looks nicer. Anyways, here's a render of the Coyote and another in-game picture.

Alright, now that I can see it a little more clearly I'm going to have to agree with lgcfm- the texture is definitely a bit too big for the body. Also, the skin appears to only be one color, where the actual coloration of the mountain coyote is more variegated, with gray and darker brown parts. Overall, it looks more like a plains coyote than a mountain coyote, but even then the colors wouldn't be right.

Sorry if I'm coming across as too critical. It looks pretty nice, but it just isn't very accurate to the actual animal.

Thank you for the critique. When I made the original skin, I used the Mountain Coyote image on Wikipedia, which is very blurry. I just found a better reference image, so I'll resin it when I have time. Also, are there any other suggestions? I'm not making an updated species list soon, and although it can easily be updated, it would be nice if it were the final list.

First off let me tell you it's great to see the project still alive, as for recommendations a plateau striped whiptail (Aspidoscelis velox) would be cool to see. Hopefully the coyote will get fixed.

Basically what Trichechus said.
Since you are new to photosourcing it's understandable. Try to always use the best picture you can find, in terms of: size (at the very least the body should be bigger in the pic than in the UV), sharpness and overall texture quality (no blurry, moving, or pixelated pics, also no dust/dirt/snow in the animal body if possible, no grass/leaves covering it, etc.), ilumination (hopefully uniform, and not a very light back and a very dark belly for example). Also I know it can be hard to find pics for certain rare animals, in that cases you can use a similar one and edit the colors a bit. In your case you can use an average coyote and make the fur lighter afterwards, the result will be much better than trying to find a good quality pic of your particular subspecies.
Looking forward to the final result :)

Also regarding suggestions, I don't know much about USA states, but how about an American Kestrel? I think we are missing one.
