Okay, I got Blender a while ago, but there's one reason I got it and it's the thing I can't do- How would I model/skin animals? Not for ZT2 or anything, just for show. I've seen a few tutorials, but they're all very confusing on the vertices and stuff. The farthest I got in anything was cutting a model in half. How could I model animals like these- ![]() ![]() (I can sculpt some stuff though. I made a little inchworm and a beanbag chair without using a tutorial. )

It's basically always the same procedure, and you won't get around working with vertices. You can technically sculpt models with dynamic topology without ever looking at them, but that's rather bad style, not so easy after all and only the first step. Generally sculpting is not something you want to be your only step in the modeling pipeline. You always have to follow with a retopology step, where you rebuild the model with good topology. |
