Is walkin' with a dead man.

Hello everyone again. This time, I don't have much to show, just one little bird:

The Duarian jackdaw, a bird that's very much alike the western jackdaw except for where it lives and it's plumage.

I was too lazy tbh to take ingame pictures.

I'm also sharing a link to the birds I've made so far: link

Please not that the birds are not really finished. Like, att all. They do work ingame, but does not lay any eggs. I had no trouble with them when I tested them; they're currently fine in all habitats, but all of them (except for the magpie I think) are listed on Boreal forest. All icons, maps and such are from HENDRIX's original common raven, and they all have unfinished Zoopedias, but their names should display correctly in English versions of the game (if they don't, rename the lang folder containing them). Their food is also not correct, they're all currently listed as pure carnivores. Also, I couldn't get the sounds for them to work correctly, pretty sure the problem is the wav file.

With all that said, I'm releasing this in case someone were interested in having them as ambient animals in your zoo or something, and for people to debug test it if they want.

Thank you very much! I hope you get on finishing them all completely, but no pressure. ;)

Just a quick update! I've managed to make the birds blink, lol. So no more suspicious eyes while walking around; just open eyes and a blink here and there! I also "completly" redid the coding (read: took the updated raven coding and coded it into a new animal, instead of using the old coding) so now they'll lay eggs too, with no crashing :)

^Look at dem open eyes! Sadly, no pictures of the nest and eggs...

Also, did you notice the new selection?
Posted Image
I made it with the help of some stock photography I found on Google... But the more I look at it, the more it feels like some other birds already have a similar selection? I just can't remember which.

Wooo, on a roll today I guess. I created a filter, so now will all my stuff be sorted under it:

Also, look! A new icon, and (not really visible) an updated Zoopedia for the Hooded crow. It's pretty much finished now, but I'm wondering if I should add more variation to the birds or not? I love variation lol

(Sowwy for double posting, haha. It's ok in your own designing thread I hope?)

Now, something different...
A spectacled porpoise.

It's made from the Vaquita made by Eryel, Maximilian and Zerosvalmont.

Mesh edit and skin by me :)
I need to mesh the female and fix the skin better... And code the whole animal too :P

I would strongly suggest lifting an actual skin texture from a photo of another (similar) dolphin species (as photos of this particular animal are scarce), and then de-saturate the photo in your image-editing program, making the layer an overlay, then painting the correct color patterns underneath. Otherwise it looks too flat.

You could probably reduce the size of that dorsal fin as well; it looks much too pronounced:

Corvids look great, by the way.

Thanks for the tips about the skins, I appreciate it :)

However, the dorsal is actually just fine. It's a male spectacled porpoise and well... Their dorsals looks surreal:

Comparison between male and female (in a spoiler due them being dead):

I could however round it off a bit. This mesh (and skin) is mostly based of namu-the-orca's artwork: Posted Image

I fixed the skin, and there's actually texture on it, but gotta rework it a bit. Also, NifSkope destroy the quality :')

Anyways, a slightly remeshed and fully reskinned male, shown ingame (by replacing the model and skin of the vaquita I base this animal of):

And the female mesh, which needs a small dorsal, but still:

Help on how to eliminate the "ragged" edges between the black and white is highly asked for :)

So I fixed a bit with my corvids again... I updated the skins on the hooded crow and western jackdaw (but that's saved to be shown another day), and now all my corvids eat meat, fish, fruit, berries, insects and shrimp (+possibly eggs, haven't really tried it out yet) :)

However, I decided to fix some stuff with my Eurasian magpie. Instead of an normal, "boring" magpie (that was moved to the black-billed magpie instead ;P) I decided to make a Pica pica mauritanica, aka Maghreb magpie, a sunspecies of the Eurasian magpie, which differs from the others by having a blue skin patch near the eyes as well as a longer tail. Oh and I made a Black-billed magpie for those who want a generic Eurasian magpie... Or a black-billed magpie, which is found in North America. It could work for both. Aaaaand... I made a Yellow-billed magpie too :')

From left to right: Maghreb magpie (P. p. mauritanica), black-billed magpie (P. hudsonia) and yellow-billed magpie P. nuttalli).

Sadly not. It's too similar to the black-billed magpie in looks (and in genetics), which makes me feel like it's unnecessary to have two magpie species that pretty much looks the same. This is also one of the reasons I did a P. p. mauritanica instead of a generic Pica pica.

However, I might make a P. p. sericea in the future if I feel like it :)

Well, while I have quite a bunch of corvids coded, slightly meshed, scaled, skinned, new sounds added etc. which I have not shown them all, I decided to show off this, because I really need help with the skins. It looks fine, yet it's not right somehow? I can't put my mind to it.

Anyways, here's the Grey crow (Corvus tristis), formely known as the barefaced crow:

Are the file links then the finished birds or still the WIP ones? You showed a link earlier but said to tread with caution since they were incomplete.
