So I'm in the market for a new laptop after getting some money for Christmas. My absolute budget is like $600, even though I need it for digital art and low-end gaming (ZT2, Sims 4, mild Steam games :-) ).

I've narrowed it down to two laptops, and though I'm tech savvy I was looking for more opinions.

1. This Dell...
...which has an i5 processor as opposed to the other's i7, waaaaay better graphics, touchscreen which I don't care either way for, and though Dell is ehhhh sometimes they've gotten better over the years. Maybe. I guess I'll find out.

2. This ASUS...
...which is an overall better constructed product because ASUS is usually da bomb, an i7 processor, but bleh graphics and according to reviews, a dimmer backlight.

I'm more into art than gaming on a computer, and I do a lot of music listening/web browsing generally. What do you guys think would be a better choice?

I once had a Dell computer. Wasn't the best... it was slow, and the graphics weren't so good. But of course, it's not the same as the one in the link.
I got an Asus right now. Works very well, and it had great graphics!

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of Dell because even if they're snappy at first, they're prone to lagging as time goes on.

What model is your current Asus?

It says F555L on some sticker on the laptop. I just got this yesterday, but so far, it's working great.

Asus all the way over Dell - dell is crap. (I bought my hubby an Asus)
I find the motherboards hold up well and the sound is usually better.
Above both I prefer MSI.

I ended up with the Dell...better battery, better offer overall. I know what people say about the different brands, but eh. It has an Asus motherboard, haha.
