So I'm in the market for a new laptop after getting some money for Christmas. My absolute budget is like $600, even though I need it for digital art and low-end gaming (ZT2, Sims 4, mild Steam games ).I've narrowed it down to two laptops, and though I'm tech savvy I was looking for more opinions. 1. This Dell... ...which has an i5 processor as opposed to the other's i7, waaaaay better graphics, touchscreen which I don't care either way for, and though Dell is ehhhh sometimes they've gotten better over the years. Maybe. I guess I'll find out. 2. This ASUS... ...which is an overall better constructed product because ASUS is usually da bomb, an i7 processor, but bleh graphics and according to reviews, a dimmer backlight. I'm more into art than gaming on a computer, and I do a lot of music listening/web browsing generally. What do you guys think would be a better choice? |

I once had a Dell computer. Wasn't the best... it was slow, and the graphics weren't so good. But of course, it's not the same as the one in the link. I got an Asus right now. Works very well, and it had great graphics! |

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of Dell because even if they're snappy at first, they're prone to lagging as time goes on. What model is your current Asus? |

It says F555L on some sticker on the laptop. I just got this yesterday, but so far, it's working great. |

Asus all the way over Dell - dell is crap. (I bought my hubby an Asus) I find the motherboards hold up well and the sound is usually better. Above both I prefer MSI. Edited by Rezcall, Dec 28 2015, 10:34 PM.

I ended up with the Dell...better battery, better offer overall. I know what people say about the different brands, but eh. It has an Asus motherboard, haha. |
