![]() This is the Land of Giants hyaenodon, and again I just can't figure out how to make its feet. When it's done, I'm planning to release it as a teaser for LoG, and then we'll have to wait a bit longer for the rest of the pack to be finished. Here's a different view Anyways, besides the feet, the model is FINISHED, and if we get it skinned soon, you can expect the teaser release in the near future EDIT: I forgot to mention: since the model isn't quite there yet, you can suggest minor changes to it. Great job! If you asked nicely I'm sure you could use the feet from an existing Carnivoran model. Anyway, can't wait to see it skinned! |

I always prefer a view with topology, because it makes it easier to see what's good or where you can improve your mesh! I'm also not too sure about the whiskers being directly extruded from the body... You have to decide, which look worse, the seam from the whiskers to the face, or the seam where the whisker is extruded. I'd prefer making them speedster, so you have a non manifold mesh with the whiskers, but you're the designer, so you should decide But overall it looks nice from what I can see

This is pretty cool! WWB was always my favorite of the series, and I don't think we have a Hyaenodon for ZT2 yet. |

Model looks pretty good. Though I would strongly advise against having any non-manifold geometry. It takes extra processing and activation power and makes the model heavier. It can also cause irritating problems when setting vert weights for rigging, among other just plain problematic occurrences, like texture clipping/flashing and bugging out shaders over those faces entirely. So be sure to scrutinize the mesh closely to make sure you don't have to stress yourself with those problems. Take it from me, non manifold is a pain in the butt no matter how you place it. Especially when UVing a model for textures. You'll end up with extra pieces that don't actually exist in the model. Anyhow, keep up the good work! - Garth, out. |

Indeed your model looks fine to me, But I think you can still work the head and legs. Especially I give you a tip, you can base your animal on WWB while respecting real proportions from fossils and reconstructions

First of all, i have to say this project sounds awesome!!. and the model looks wonderful aswell. But if you ask for minor changes, i have seen models before that were ruined by the whiskers looking horribly wrong, like non-skinned white rectangles. i would vote for removing that. oh, and thank you in special for doing a hyaenodon, a creature i like so much

Whiskers will be separated on the UV later on, so this shouldn't be a problem. I didn't want him to start making all his meshes non manifold, of course not. This was just for the whiskers
