Thank you for all the great responses! I used the feet from AD's Striped Hyena, and they seem to be just right. I also repositioned the head and the legs so that they would fit the bones better. As to the whiskers, would it be better if I split them from the rest of the mesh so that they were separated? Or should I make them similar to the whiskers from practically every other animal made for ZT2? Another thing, I'm not sure how to make the alpha planes for the teeth. I don't really want to make them 3D, thinking about how much work that would be. |

Keep the whiskers in the same model as the body, but I would indeed separate them from the body topology, because they do mess up the shading a bit. Nice start so far

Do the same with the teeth as DM suggested for the whiskers- Same model, but not actually attached to the other vertices. Then you can position them where you want. |

So... extrude from the lips, split, maybe scale a bit? |

If you like. Or you can copy a rectangle from anywhere on the body, stick it in the mouth, and play with the shapes a bit. There's really no wrong way to do it. |

This looks so nice already, I'm surprised no one ever made one of these in the entire history of the comunity. |

I'm reading a fiction book about prehistoric times, (the main character is a prehistoric bat) and there are a bunch of Hyaenodons in the book. It's great that you're doing this! |

Yay, topology Looks great overall, but you definitely don't need that much detail on the main body, so decrease the vertex amount! And I think the front legs should look more like the picture below, normally, legs aren't just so straight ![]() Spoiler: click to toggle

This is looking sweet so far! I've been wondering why there weren't any Hyaenodon(s) for ZT2 since they released the Dossier for Hyaenodon for ARK, and I've been wanting one for the same reason. Now we'll get one, heh ![]() Awesome model! But I can't help but agree with Yukon on the legs. If you can get them like that it'll make the model look nicer from the front view. |
