I voted Land of the Mammoths because, albeit having some woolly mammoths out there, we're actually lacking in a quality one :(

Edit: *views the poll* Aaaaaand it looks like I'll still be lacking one for some time -_____-

Don't worry, I'm in the same boat as you are. It baffles me why there aren't many downloads of one of the most iconic extinct animals, let alone a remake of the crappy vanilla Mastodon from EA.

Regardless, I'm still happy with whichever pack gets chosen. More extinct mammals is never a bad thing.

I am surprised that New Dawn has that many votes, its only popular animal is Gastornis, it's quite tragic at the end and its Ambulocetus is forgettable (i only voted for it to actually have the under appreciated whale in more media.)
i also voted for Whale Killer and Next of Kin, the former is so that we can have a massive Basilosaurus and the latter for the sake of Australopithecus. (loving the species, you know what biomes will be used for them?)

If it makes you feel better, I also voted Land of Mammoths for the same reason. :P Along with Land of Giants and Sabre tooth.

I really look forward to seeing more work on this project! The Hyaenodon so far looks amazing!

I voted for Whale Killer only because I want a park full of tubby little Moetherium and it saddens me none have been made.

(Also if you need good skin reference I found the companion book for WWB which has closer looks at some of the lesser seen animals.)

I've decided to make the one or two most iconic animals from each episode as a teaser, before completing each pack. I'll do them in the order that they come up in the poll. You can suggest which animals I should make for the teasers, but here's my list of my favourite animal from each episode:

New Dawn: Ambulocetus

Whale Killer: Moeritherium

Land of Giants: Hyaenodon

Next of Kin: Dinofelis

Sabre Tooth: Smilodon

Mammoth Journey: Woolly Mammoth

Here's a quick view of my Chalicotherium model.

Credits to HENDRIX for the Megatherium hands and stegosaur feet.
You'll notice that it has joints that are completely different from most other animals. The Gorilla skeleton won't work, because it's arms are stuck out at 45 degree angles. The Megatherium is too flat and broad, and the okapi has joints in the worst possible places. I'm not going to be making new animations, but no others fit it.

By cleverly posing it to the skeleton you can usually make it work still.

You should work on the front view of the model, the side is easy of course with the references (ahh WWD is so much easier than WWD were the renders were never in side pose lol), but as Yukon pointed out, arms are not just gradually getting thinner. Use the connected falloff tool (shortcut ALT+O) to add some muscles and make it interesting. You can use the scroll wheel to change the influence. You could probably give the shoulder blade a little more definition without shrink-wrapping it too much.

You're right, the arms and legs are in pretty bad positions for rigging. xD

And yes, I will try to give it some more muscles and stuff. :P

For teasers, I'd recommend the Mammoth and Ambulocetus. They seem to be the most desired, along with Basilosaurus I guess.

Personally I would pick the Australopithecus, because who doesn't want to put our hominid ancestors in a zoo :P
