To be honest, if you're going to refer to people with different interests than your own which you find offensive or whatever as 'fags', then I have no problem with you leaving. Be my guest.

I personally don't see eye-to-eye with bronies, but no need to start throwing around ugly homophobic slurs like that.

It's actually been a while since I heard the word "brony," so I thought that craze was on its way out :/

Sorry for using the word ''fags'', I never knew that it's offensive, so I apologies.

Guys If It was for me I will never leave this community, and the interest in animals, it's only that this interest unfortunately ruined my social life here in this little hole in the mountains that I have to call home (AKA fluminimaggiore, a little town in Sardinia with a very close minded mentality).

Alright, alright guys keep this civil and stop this uneeded bickering and swear words, you wouldn't want me to put my foot down on this won't you?

Should this behaviour continue, we the staff will be forced to intervene.

Now as a brony I think that what has been said here is just rude. You are all stereotyping the fanbase. Sure many are horrid, but you will find that that is far from the majority.

You were all clearly told to stop bickering over this stuff, I can't help but actually warn you for ignoring a verbal warn, and let the message be clear, any form of bickering and conflict that continues in this forum will be warned just like he was.

I Was not kidding when I said I'd lash out warns

Woah, alright, jeez. We're done bickering, this thread is practically dead anyway. No need to warn us, we won't argue anymore.

I really don't care about the brony fanbase or what it does. Not at all. It really does not interest me and sometimes I will admit it does disgust me, but:

4.1.2 Provocation || Posting provocative or aggressive posts towards a specific group of people, attacking others people's beliefs or political stand points and constantly getting into fights will be considered flaming even if you don't mention anyone directly.

Perhaps people actually breaking rules would be better off warned.

To be honest, he didn't deserve the warn because he explained his post in a civil, calm manner, and he didn't enlarge or colored his words either in an aggressive manner to prove his point.

Warn me all you want, but you didn't warn the people who DID actually break the rule earlier, so you stabbed yourself in the back in the process. I didn't see a single swear word or offensive slur meanwhile in PrimevalBrony's post.

This topic has been closed, but I'd like to address the different issues brought up here and share my personal perspective. I do feel that any issues in the staff team, whether or not we agree with them, are still my responsibility as it is part of my role to help set the tone for all site decisions and staff actions.

Firstly, the use of words like 'fag' or any other insult or form of profanity is not acceptable on this forum. We understand that the member who used this did not intend to use it in a hurtful way and may not have recognised the homophobic connotations of the term, but we have contacted him and dealt with the issue. We do think whether or not he knew what it meant, it wasn't an appropriate word to use anyway, so we have decided to uphold the rules as written. In the future, we advise members to be more careful of the terms they use to label any group of people. While we accept people of all views, we do not allow members to post comments or terms which are insulting and hurtful.

Secondly, being rude in reply is really no better. Whether or not this member has said something that is degrading or harsh, we hope that people can have it in themselves to look past this, especially given it was only a mistake on kepperbob's part and he did apologise afterwards. It doesn't seem to have been much of an issue here, but I felt like it was important to mention.

We wil admit that Yi Qi's first verbal warning was unclear and, as such, the following post may not seem to have been going against what he requested. We don't feel as though the actions taken were appropriate, so we have gone back and removed the warn given and we apologise for the misunderstanding. The administrative team also do not condone the use of intimidation to keep order and we apologise that it was used in this situation. However, we understand that Yi Qi is only human and came into the staff team at a time where he couldn't really be given clear training on how to perform his role. In light of that, we are thankful that he decided to take action anyway. Staff are required to make quick decisions in times of conflict and sometimes they make the wrong ones, which is why we always look back on the actions taken to ensure the right decision is made. Yi Qi was only doing his job, so we hope this mistake can also be looked past. We will try to be more clear on warnings without provoking or intimidating members to listen in the future.

Also, this whole 'stick it to the man' attitude doesn't make sense unless you actually want the site to fail. All the staff, even if we make mistakes, aim to run the site as best we can and it is our role to step in when a situation is getting out of hand. There is no point in ganging up on a staff member for taking action and doing what he is meant to do no matter how badly it was handled. If we all make a decision to discuss our concerns reasonably, staff and members alike, we will find it much easier to handle problems that arise in the future.

Finally, while it is a member's decision how and when they choose to leave, I would like to mention that there are plenty of other places to voice your concerns about the forums. This section is for letting everyone know when you are going, not for looking for someone to persuade you otherwise. :)
