Hi all, i just learned a bit how to skin. This is my first project i'm working on. Northern Cardinal It's not very good, but i decided to show it anyway. Credits to Hendrix for the model (Bleu Jay) and the texture on the feet. Male ![]() ![]() It's still a WIP, the female and young need some work and i probaly gonna improve the skin of the male aswell. |

When you do smaller birds, the skin does not have to be perfect, it is hard to tell ingame, my hawaiand birds don't even have good textures on their wings and tail, but in game they look pretty good, the renders look alittle off but it is very hard to see. |

I'd say the face could do with a bit more work, Make the dark area of the males faces more black and extend it into thew throat and make the females face paler. Also the beak needs to be shorter and thicker, more finch-like.

I agree with you about the black parts on the male, for the female it depends on the variant, i used this pic: ![]() But i was already thinking about some variant, so i can do a paler female variant aswell. And i definitely agree with you about the beak it's something i noticed aswell, but the thing is that i'm not very familiar with blender. I'm trying to learn it but it keeps hard to do. So unless somebody is willing to help me with that, the beck won't be fixed anytime soon. I used Hendrix Bleujay model. Edited by Michel, Feb 6 2016, 06:57 AM.
