Thanks fot the feedback on the filters.

I have coded all animals in my game for the filters and I have really alot of them!
The files "~animals continent family filter" included are so limited, but I didn´t want to blow it up with so many animals and in the end most users don´t have the animals in their own game.

At the moment I think of a way to provide easy access to the edited files. Then so much more animals could show up in the filters in your game!
But I have no good idea yet.

I could probably make a system of folders so everyone could pick out the individually needed edited main.xml, but then everybody have to include his own mixture in ~ContinentFilterDefault.z2f manually. The right subfolders (entities/units/animals/ai) are already in it.

Archive for coded animal.xml files: LINK
There are not many files yet, but I´m going to update step-by-step.

As mentioned above you can pick the files (those "animal.xml") you need an put them in "~ContinentFilterDefault.z2f\entities\units\animals\ai" (with winrar). Then the animals should show up in the filters.

The files are just hacks so you need the original downloads too!

I have another 60 signs for you!

bunteriro signs part 3

It contains 40 more carnivorans, otter, martens, mongooses, vivverids, and 20 primates.

You can see previews below.

Spoiler: click to toggle

With the pole cat: my sister borrows me her graphic tablet. I have some problems but I hope I get used to it and I could improve the skin. With the blending it unfortunately get a bit blurred. I really like it but I wants to try what I can do with the graphic tablet.

The polecat looks great so far. :)
The usual trick to hide this blurring is to overlay a grey fur texture over everything. ;)

I like to share the next bunch of signs with you.

bunteriro signs part 4

Part 4 contains again 60 signs in german. There are 40 primates and 20 big mammals (elephants, rhinos, hippopotamus, tapirs and manatis). As always all species are downloadable anywhere in the community.
Credits to shen tirag for her warning signs.

Now there are signs for 240 mammals, to be continued. The next two parts will contain more ungulates.

Ingame previews of part 4 behind the spoiler.

The big goal is to have a sign for almost all the available animals and it´s too much work to do so many in two languages (now with 240 signs even the mammals aren´t done). Since I translated all my downloads in german I decided to make the signs in german too.

But if you tell me your favorite signs I can translate some. The most signs show the scientific names, so the reference to the species is clear (for you and me).

you could perhaps translate the signs for more common animals like the asian elephant and decide to leave for example the sumatran rhino in german. I might be able to help you a little after my final exams are done in May!

I was playing around with my filter system and now I am working on a new version.

Big upside:
There is no need to code all the single animals!
You can yust put it in your gamefiles and every animal, the originals and all custom made, should show up in the family filter.

Downsides:

Only for the families, not for continents, regions or nocturnal animals.
The animals only show up in the correct family if they are also coded correctly. Sadly, many downloadable animals are not.
Due to the coding I have to put the cattle-like animals, the goats and the antelopes in one big category, the "bovidae". So if you use many animals this filter is still cluttered.

To improve this version of the filter I need your help.

If you want to test it you can download it here: Filter V2
(Please remove the first version, the "ContinentFilterDefault" for testing)

Please report animals showing up in the wrong family (so they must be coded separately) and which animals are completely missing (I have to check if the family is missing or the animal itself is the problem).

I love the continental/region filters. They're something I've been wanting for the game for years.
