I was just thinking that it would be cool to see how many of us zoo tycooners have had sightings and things.(the posts could be about anything from a white squirrel to a Bigfoot) Please don't criticize anyone for believing that something is real or not. I believe I have seen a juvenile Sasquatch, we were having a get together at our house (our house is fairly in the woods) and some kids were exploring in the woods and me and my friend were going to try and sneak up on them but they spotted us. So my friend runs down the hill we were on with the flashlight and then I notice something out of the corner of my eye, something was running at me!!(the moonlight was the only way I could see) So of course I run down the hill to the other kids and they say that they heard someone messing around. What I saw was about six feet tall and no one at the get together matched my description and no one else knew about the get together and why would anyone be in the middle of the woods at night not knowing that there was people there? Now this is no joke it is as real to me as is myself. Sorry if this was to big I haven't mastered the whole spoilers thing.

Heard what I thought were wood knocks before while hiking. The only Pennsylvania cryptid I am aware of is the white big foot as well as a few jersey devil sightings. We're mostly the ghost state....don't wanna get I to paranormal experiences. I don't like retelling them. My brother saw what he described as a winged man jump off a building and a few years earlier while renovating a guy's home I saw a strange digigraded leg in the moonlight on a roof then it moved. Those may very well be mothman or Jersey devil sightings. |

I think that if what you want a is a cryptids sightings discussion thread you should make it separate from the discussion of sightings of rare animals. For starts the later do exists for sure, and also it makes the this topic kind of messy having people talking about creatures "unknown to science" and real animals at the same time. |

I used to go to a school that was a bit away from the city and surrounded by forest, so we had to walk through a path in the forest to get there from the bus stop. One day taking that path, we saw what I'm pretty sure was a pudu - brown, the size of a medium-small dog, and when it saw us it darted away like crazy

Besides a few hotspots in Pennsylvania, I don't see bald eagles often but once in a while I see them. |

I guess the rarest sighting i've had of an animal was that of a Andean condor while hiking a mountain in the Patagonia. It was flying over our heads and it was massive. It was so cool seeing one in the wild. |

Not particularly rare but when I was in Costa Rica I managed to see a Plumed Basilisk running on water in the wild, which was pretty awesome. Also got to see Leatherback and Green Sea Turtles in the wild as they were nesting. |

You guys have all these exotic animals, meanwhile I live in a state full of amish and cattle... Even all the cool stuff that's invasive can only be found in southern states... no parrots, no flamingos, or pudu, basilisks, or anything interesting... Eastern US modernized and gave all the cool biology the boot. Then again I guess you guys in South America and Europe would find a whitetail deer or a red tail hawk exotic. |

Seeing a pair of White-bellied Sea Eagle flying in the middle of the air in the wild is probably the rarest animal sighting for me. Also, a Malayan giant squirrel I saw at the trip to Peninsular Botanical Garden at Trung is also a close one. |

I saw a red deer numerous times over 2011 running around out here. I still have no idea where it came from but my belief is it escaped some hunting area or it was privately owned and escaped. Either way it was pretty impressive though you Europeans see these things all the time. It was extremely tame and hung around a friends farm until it disappeared in fall and probably got shot. I also saw an abnormally colored great blue heron once, it was pied on the head and breast. Edited by Admiral General Aladeen, Feb 21 2016, 01:30 PM.
