Okay so, I hope nobody minds the double post, but I have a WIP thing:
Banned jk but I do like that monkey puzzle, the issue is the tree comes in so many forms. Since you're the one making it, would you be open to doing model variants? I think that would make our monkey puzzle experience the richest it could be. Just a suggestion of course, I know these things take time. The boughs look a little too thick relative to the trunk size, other than those things, it looks A+ to me.

I DID test it in its early stages, and found that the RR one actually overwrites mine. Not sure if that still applies since Iben's fixes, but the ideal would actually be if mine overwrote RR's tree fern ingame, then you can just opt to simply not download mine if you want to keep RR's, rather than go through all the folders to find the RR tree fern and remove its related files. This all being said, I'm likely gonna make a Dicksonia antarctica anyway.

But I mean, I'm open to ideas here.
Can't you just put a bunch of z's in front of the file name? The game will understand yours as being the updated version and will overwritr RR's without much fuss

Already got that planned. Was thinking of doing three. This one; a taller, more iconic mushroom shaped one; and a smaller one that's got that sorta Christmas tree look going for it. As for the branch thickness, once it's textured and alpha'd, that may change. More space to work with is better than not enough.

I recall trying that early in coding development, but I'll look into that again further another time. Might just be me, I don't know.

Now that I got my latest skeletal drawing out of the way, I'm reviving this topic with a few updates:

1) I'm rage-quitting monkey puzzles for now. I can never get them to look right once textured and I can't seem to figure out why that is.

2) So instead, I've made a western sword fern! :D

3) Next thing I'm working on is a King Sago Palm remake. Buuuuut... I could use some second opinions and stuff to get the leaves to look right, so here's the current leaf texture work so far. Any critiques?

4) Lastly, I'm currently working on updating my previous plants to try and get mesh variants working ingame, starting with the western sword fern. Still a few bugs with that though, so Iben's hopefully gonna be able to point out where I done goofed. From there, the rest should be pretty simple. I'll definitely post screenshots if it starts working.

Goof has been found and fixed my friend :D

The sword fern is awesome and I really like King Sago Palm textures. Perhaps adding some of the yellow highlights on the right instead of all adding them to the right would be cool, but that's a real small nitpick :P

Got one of my Sago's mesh variants done, finally. I lost about 5 hours of work earlier and had to start the leaf meshing over from scratch. One down, two to go, then maybe throw in some alphas along the trunk at the end (let me know if you guys think I should or not):

It's a remake so I kinda expect it to :P

It looks amazing mate, really. Do these bloom in real life ? If so I'd be able to code that for you if you want :D

Nah, they don't bloom at the moment. Currently male and female coned plants are just going to be mesh variants. Though thinking about it... The Agave or Aloe blooms doesn't it? Shouldn't be too difficult to adapt the coding from that.

That said, it might be a bit superfluous because part of the blooming process for cycads involves the cones opening up, sprouting new leaves from the middle and literally shoving all the old leaves off the plant so... It probably doesn't need that sophisticated kind of coding. Might just pass on that this time.

I don't know if it will overwrite AD's one yet. I intended for the tree fern I meshed a while ago to do so, since the base game's tree fern wasn't based on Tasmanian tree ferns (and I fully intend to mesh one of those in the future too). I probably will make it overwrite, but although these are all going to be in one pack, I can keep all my plants as isolated z2f files so you can pick and choose what you want and don't want.
