I just read the news and wondered if I would manage to make the topic, funnily enough I had the exact same title on my mind. I can't even... It's just so surreal that animal for which we had complete fossils for decades and was considered by most as a mollusk to turn out to be a member of the lamprey family. |

... ...Well, this was unexpected. All the many, many things people were saying the Tully Monster was, and it turns out to be the ONE thing nobody considered. This is why Palaeontology is so awesome, no? THAT SAID, it's the freaking WEIRDEST lamprey I've ever set eyes on. Case in point: it has an ELBOW in it's FACE.
