New Zoo Game

Ok guys just to clarify. I don't know how you think, but this is just not going to happen. A game with the complexity of ZT2 with only two developers, who still have their own lifes, who probably still have to learn the coding language, without any big experience in a game design work-environment and all of that within a time period of probably 2-4 years is just madness. You can't do it. Look at AD: Even if we are/were many active members, Radical Remake still isn't finished, not to mention all the other expansions, and these are just the animals. We're not speaking about much more time consuming developement, which doesn't only include programming, but also all the concepts and a lot of thinking and organizing in general. Even a team of two skilled developers/artists would probably need more than 10 years to work on a game like that in their freetime. And remember: We don't have even one single person who works or at least knows the game industry. And it doesn't help if people then talk like, ohh, we still have to create a game, like it would be something you can do on a weekend. If you'd really want this to be something, you'd need a team of skilled people, who have time and knowledge, and I don't know how you could let those people appear somehow. So really, I would appreciate it, if someone who has time maybe starts a thread, in which he or she explains her way on becoming a game developer, learning unity and C# and helping people on their way to do exactly the same. If that doesn't happen, we can just stop right here and continue with the old and crappy ZT2 and stop talking about any new game, that will appear from nothing.

Or we can all just go to Microsoft HQ in Seattle and whine at their doorstep to make a Zoo Tycoon 3 that doesn't suck. I heard whining works quite well. Got me candy bars at the supermarket from my parents all the time. It also got me a good spanking, but still, it should work 50% of the time.

THAT, or we could wait for Planet Safari...

I say either wait for Planet Safari or see what the PK devs are up to. Shouldn't be too hard to replace prehistory with modernity. Though with this thread, let's just say all of what we want.

Rob Schneider herp de derp, rated PG-13!

What if the spiritual successor to Zoo Tycoon was, hypothetically, made by a new company that has former Blue Fang employees? ( Semi-related sidenote: Blue Fang's former HQ was one town away from where I live now).

The reason I got this idea was this upcoming game I'm really looking forward to called "Yooka-Laylee" which is being made by a new company that consists of many of the former RARE employees that worked on great games before, like the old Banjo-Kazooie games (which Yooka-Laylee is going to be a "spiritual successor" to).

That could be interesting.

So something like Planet Coaster? Maybe if one could find and round up some of the devs and prove there's a market.

They're all probably chilling on the beaches of Seychelles right now, living nice, care-free lives off the millions of dollars in revenue they made from Dino Danger Pack.

I just say we should all shut up and follow the development of mesozoica and prehistoric kingdoms. they have made actual progress towards this. say for example the mesozoica demo has been out for about 2 months already.

yo hey how about announcing your loss of motivation/etc in the game's skype group lol

if you're not really planning to actually continue it or give the game any real direction, i'd rather not be left in the dark still working on a wolf model for a game that's not going to happen.

We've got a skype group for a reason.

oh well lol I can just use the wolf for other things... maybe release the model as a free modding thing for zt2.

Let's just bury this mess. If we bring this back to life, we'll keep things private till' we have something to show. ENd of discussion.

EDIT: after a bit of soul searching, this isn't kill but we'll be quiet as church mice till' we have stuff to show.
