Ten years ago, Zoo Tycoon Volcano was born - a fansite that focused fully on the prehistoric side of the Zoo Tycoon franchise, that flourished on exclusive downloads unlike any the franchise had ever seen. Talented designers like Zooasaurus, King Hoopla, and DragonGod brought us back millions of years with some of the earliest prehistoric and mesozoic creations... and eventually came the most ambitious project in the site's history, created by the same talented designers as ever, in a brand new team. A pack that would fill a missing niche in Blue Fang's library: prehistoric sea life, as inspired by BBC's Chased By Sea Monsters specials. Sadly, the project never saw the true official release that was long promised, and it's been five long years since any release has been attempted... until now, of course ![]() Xplosive Design Studios Presents... ![]() ![]() Zoo Tycoon 2: Formidable Seas invites players of all ages on a journey through time to some of the deadliest oceans in the history of our planet. Encounter some of the biggest and fiercest creatures ever to roam the seven seas, from the ancient Strethacanthus to the iconic and mighty Liopleruodon. Witness and experience hundreds of years of evolution before your eyes as you meet twenty astounding sea monsters from the Devonian to the Cenozoic eras that will amaze and frighten your zoo guests like never before. Combine all of the greatest features from extinct-themed and marine zoos to build the prehistoric marine park of your dreams! Latest News
Content I'm soon hoping to release an official list of animals slated and confirmed for release in Formidable Seas, but while many can be inferred, I'm going to hold off a little longer!~ Screenshots ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Frequently Asked Questions Where will "Formidable Seas" be released? It will be a Zoo Tycoon Volcano exclusive, as was always intended from the beginning. There are no current plans for any wider release than that. Will you fix the bugs from the previously leaked version? We plan to diagnose, fix and fully repair any glitches that affect gameplay, such as animals not giving birth, for example. If you have a previous version of the pack, please private message us with any bugs/glitches you have encountered so we may repair them. Will there be new skins or models? The current priority is to complete the unfinished work that was previously intended for release and restore it to the original intended release version. New material will definitely be included, and additional new material may be added based on designer interest ![]() Who is working on the project? JohnVM (that's me!) is overseeing primary development at this time, but a full team is not assembled and we are still looking for additional assistance with models. The Marvels Evolved team, including Incinerox and Zooasaurus, while not directly involved at this time, are being kept fully informed. When will it be released? When it's finished. Hopefully soon-ish, but if it was in my hands, it'd be out yesterday, literally. (This was supposed to be timed for ZTV's anniversary.) Purely for nostalgic purposes, here's the original announcement topic at ZTDC from eight years ago. |

i don't want to come off rude, but....nearly all the animals that are in here we already have in amazing models. although, it would be nice to revamp it; all we need now is a reboot of miocene madness, and the nostalgia will be complete. |

Fantastic. I thought all hope was lost for this pack. I didn't think ZTV still had dls though? Anyway, I've been playing vanilla lately and wanted to get some packs that still have the low tech art style. Looks like my hopes and dreams are realized. Edited by Hungrywalrus, Jul 17 2016, 05:56 PM.
