http://w11.zetaboards.com/Z_T_V/topic/11718489/1/#new![]() Ladies and Gentlemen, I am attempting a expansion pack. Navajodactylus and Harpactognathus are teasers for this project featuring animals from the ancient skies that lack a ZT2 representative. So far only one animal planned is flightless. Most are done so far but need bug fixes. Once that is done, they will be released as they are being made so it will be released in parts. Here is what is made so far and planned. Jeholornis Silesaurus(only flightless animal in the pack so far) Angustinaripterus Halimornis Huoshanornis Muzquizopteryx Yanornis I am willing to take requests on skin styles for future animals or species. Diets and some color choices so far for most birds listed are loosely based on A Field guide to mesozoic birds and other winged dinosaurs. Also here is evidence of my work if the two pterosaurs so far aren't enough. The female Huoshanornis skin.

Awesome! Can't wait to see more! Any NifSkope picture to show? I want to know, why don't you use scales?

Um... I have Nifskope but I haven't actually installed it yet. Also I use paint... I'm happy with the results so far but I'm gonna work on some other stuff later on. I'm actually recruiting currently for bug fixes and possible and better expansion in this. |

I don't really good at skinning, but, maybe I can help you with texturing. You can PM me. I know nothing about coding, though. What is the base for the Huoshanornis model?

Fiji parrotfinch I think... batty helped debug it. Mainly what I was trying to go for was a baltimore oriole but green instead of orange. Once he sends me the file, I can send it to you for texturing. Also credit will be given. |

Ladies and gentlemen, the pack's first bird(but not THE first bird) will be out soon. Special thanks to Christina Aguilera and batty for fixes and textures. Here is the female in game without the textures yet.

Textures are now on Yanornis. I'm testing it right now and if it comes through(it likely will, Batty and CA are amazing.) I will make sure it is released either today or tomorrow. So, ladies and gentlemen, two ancient birds whom never had a zt2 representative ever will have just that soon... though I admit they might not be the greatest as I am not AD, JFD, or other long lasting design team. I am proud of my first pack so far being successful. I hope you all are enjoying the two teaser pterosaurs and hope to see some S & Ts with aviaries of these guys. |

I goofed up. When I changed the size...I made it too big. According to A field guide to mesozoic birds and other winged dinosaurs, Yanornis is the size of a red tail hawk or large raven and I goofed and apparently made it as tall as man. ![]() Here it is with Huoshanornis... at least the detail can be seen XD I'mma check out the size files for similarly sized animals to what I want yanornis to be so that it is better sized I made it 0.8 or 0.7 and now I made it 0.4. Since I am making this pack not only for myself, but for the community, I'd like to hear what you think the size should be. ![]() My work so far...Excluding the nyctosaurus, this is what is done so far for Mesozoic dragons. I fixed it![]() Ladies and gentlemen. The first two birds of the pack are complete. ![]() (Mesozoic birds, made by very talented designers, greet the two new additions.) http://www.mediafire.com/download/c6hqpd819v1a310/zzz_MD_Huoshanornis.z2f https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1Jl-GbBAUITa1ZUR2dlWksyZmc/view Enjoy, I will need to report though that the alphas on Yanornis are a bit odd other than that, I find nothing wrong. |

While it's a good start to designing there are quite a few anatomical errors in the Huoshanornis and I hope you don't mind me listing some to try and help you improve the bird. Firstly when talking about all Enantiornithes, a lot of less advanced features when compared to modern birds seem to be absent from your model including both claws on the end and middle of the wing (corresponding to where individual fingers once were) and a toothed beak. Both of these can be added with an extra alpha or edited alpha on the wing and beak respectively. As for Huoshanornis itself, the genus is known to have had two ribbon-like display feathers at the end of the pygostyle as shown in the type specimen (circled the feathers in question below, dashed line is the vestigial fingers).

Again, I tried to mimic those featured in A guide to mesozoic birds and other winged dinosaurs and I did not see the long tails and teeth were hidden in the mouth. Currently I am doing what Mibound is doing...only I'm not as great as it, reskinning and renaming. I'd have to ask someone else to help with adding or editing alphas. I will take this into account though and I thank you for bringing this up. |
